Chairman’s Report
Year in Review
• Aquathlon (Sep-15)
– Second Aquathlon hosted by Thame Swimming Club
– 62 entrants (10 more than last year)
– Marcus Birmingham and Ella Simms winning overall
for boys & girls respectively
• BBAT (Sep-15)
– 73 swimmers, 477 swims, 31 speeding tickets, 56 gold,
52 silver, 34 bronze, 251 PB’s (53% of swims)
– Thame came 3rd after Didcot and Aylesbury
• BAT Swim Camp 2015 (Oct-15)
– 15 swimmers from TSC and DBSC travelled to
Torremolinos, Spain
– 65km swimming over 22 hours & 10km walking every day
– Such a success it is to be repeated again this year

• County Championships (Jan-16)
– Came 11th out of 15 teams entered (12th in 2015)
– 29 individual swimmers (22 in 2015), 11 finalists
– 101 individual swims (76 in 2015)
– 16 relays (16 in 2015)
•Club Championships (Nov-15)
• Held at TSC with full programme
• 94 swimmers, 734 swims….over 52% PB’s
• Tom Birmingham Skins and introducing Will Finch
Breaststroke Cannon Relay
• Rotary Swimathon (Feb-16)
– 6 teams entered
– Total relay distance covered by each team in 55
minutes ranged from 3.2km to 4.4km
– TSC raised £1,866 - 50% was retained by the Club

• Welsh Nationals (Mar-16)
• Held in Swansea
• Ben Williams –qualified for 2 finals, 5 PB’s
• Josh Williams – bronze medallist, 6 finals and 9 PB’s
• South East Regional Championships (May-16)
– 6 qualifiers for Summer Regionals in Portsmouth
– 21 swims, 16 PB’s, 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals
• Thame Carnival (Jun-16)
• Record turnout of 35 swimmers plus coaches, parents
• Theme was “Best of British”

Treasurer’s Summary
• 2015/16
• Deficit was higher than anticipated due primarily to only half-year of fee
increase recovered, higher pool and land training costs.
• Club membership increased by average 12 swimmers since Sep-15
• Under-recovery of BBAT / Club Championships transaction fees/coach pass
• No major fundraising events were organised
• Coaching costs have increased due to coach expenses, and additional
costs of sending Head Coach to regional/national competitions
• 2016/17
• Maintain full membership above 120 swimmers
• Ensure that all operational income covers operational costs (ie. monthly fees
cover cost of facilities, coaching and ASA costs)
• The cost of spinning is now pay-per-use over a 6-month period only
• Small fee increase is required to recover increase in ASA fees
• Continued focus on minimising costs of pool time, coach training, etc.
