Conclusion and Outlook
03.03.2015 33
• demographic changes all over the world• many efforts and activities to deal with it• demographic change means very different
occurences• depends on the region where it appears
Conclusion and Outlook ll
03.03.2015 34
• libraries always mirror their societies• libraries try to adapt actively • some projects deal with demographic
changes without the label• in Africa focus on children’s education/
young readers
Conclusion and Outlook lll
03.03.2015 35
• in Asia projects deal with several topics(literature supply in rural areas, gender equality, digital society etc.)
• in Europe aging population is the main focus• no responses from eastern Europe and most African
countries -> still a developing trend
• all in all: important topic with only little public perception
Questions
• What about islamic countries?
United Arab Emirates etc.
• What about Eastern European countries?
• What about extraordinary circumstances?
