Welcome to our second newsletter for the Term.
I would like to welcome Brent Eather to the relieving Deputy
Principal position for the remainder of the year. Brent comes with a
wealth of knowledge and experience in this role. I would also like to
congratulate Debbie Milgate who will step into Mr Eather’s role as
Stage 1 leader.
Thank you to those families who have completed the Tell them
From Me survey. It closes on Friday.
A further survey will be sent home with children today. Some of
our families expressed a wish for a paper survey rather than an
online one. This should not take too long to complete. Please return
to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible. Our aim is to get
as much information as we can from our school community to
inform our planning for 2017.
This week we have a number of children out and about. Our Year 5
students are enjoying three days at Aussie Bush Camp. Today some
of our children with additional needs are attending Dream Cricket in
Dubbo which is organised by Rotary. This day allows all children to
learn some skills and have a great day with children from other
schools. Tomorrow Stage 1 students will be attending a theatre
production of ‘Room on the Broom’.
Our Year 6 students will begin their transition to high School
tomorrow, which is very exciting. This will run from 9:00- 11:00
and will give the students an idea of what High School is all about.
This can be an anxious time for some students so if you are
concerned please don’t hesitate to speak to your child’s teacher.
The next transition being Wk4 31st October from 8:55am –
3:08pm.
Tomorrow we also welcome our Kindergarten children for 2017 for
their first day of transition which will run from 9:00 until 11:00
each Wednesday for 8 weeks. We are looking forward to meeting
our new students.
Have a wonderful week!

Enrolments for 2018 are
now being taken
A big welcome back to all our children and families to Term 4!! It is so hard to believe that we have arrived at this time of year already—for some of us it feels like the year has only just started, but in 8 weeks time, we will be saying farewell.
This term is going to be a really busy time for all our pre-schoolers. Tomorrow sees the start of the Transition to Kinder program, For the next seven weeks our pre-schoolers will be visiting Kinder from 9am—11am,, learning all about what the future holds in Kindergarten. If you have misplaced your note about transition, please see Miss Allison to check what group your child is in.
In preparing our pre-schoolers for Kinder next year, we are no longer cutting fruit for morning tea. Children are encouraged to eat their fruit independently. It is important that children are still bringing in a piece of fruit or a vegetable for morning tea, as this continues with ‘fruit break’ when they start kinder. Please remember to also pack a water bottle for your child, as it is important that children stay hydrated in the warmer weather.
With the warmer months upon us, we have changed our daily routine to allow children time outdoors in the morning before the day heats up. We would like to remind families to bring your pre-schooler through the back gate in the morning, as we will be outside setting up first thing. In the afternoons, the normal routine applies, coming through the front door to pick up.
We would like to remind our families that our preschool hours are 8:55am (or 8:45am for working parents/carers) till 2:30pm. The front door will be opened when the children are ready to be collected. We will continue to do puzzles in the afternoon, so families are encouraged to sit and complete a puzzle with their children in the afternoon,.
We are starting to share our daily activities through Kinderloop with our families who have signed the permission form. There are a number of families who have yet to sign up, so if you haven’t completed a permission note, please see Miss Allison ASAP so we can start sharing your child’s learning with you!!! Parents/carers are also reminded to check your emails to see if your have an invite waiting for you to accept!!
Looking forward to a fun-filled final term at Preschool!!!
