AdventureTruth: He wants to stay connected with me
“Man does not live on bread alone…”
The Lord wants to _______ _____connect daily
Remember how the Lordyour God led you all theway in the desert these
forty years, to humble youand to test you in order to
know what was in yourheart, whether or not you
would keep hiscommands.
Deuteronomy 8:2
He humbled you, causingyou to hunger and then
feeding you with manna, which neither you nor yourfathers had known, to teachyou that man does not live
on bread alone but on everyword that comes from the
mouth of God.” Deuteronomy 8:3
“…his delight is in the law ofthe Lord, and on his law hemeditates day and night. He
is like a tree planted bystreams of water, which
yields its fruit in season andwhose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.” Psalm 1:2-3
“Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word …”
The Lord wants to _______ __________connect personally
James 1:22-25, Jamesputs it this way,
“Do not merely listento the word, and so
deceive yourselves. Dowhat it says.
Anyone who listens to theword but does not do
what it says is like a manwho looks at his face in amirror and, after looking
at himself, goes away andimmediately forgets what
he looks like.
But the man who looksintently into the perfectlaw that gives freedom,
and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has
heard, but doing it – hewill be blessed in what he
does.”
“Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth
of God …”
The Lord wants to _______ ______connect deeply
“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is
truth.” John 17:17
We have not received the spiritof the world but the Spirit who
is from God, that we mayunderstand what God has freelygiven us. This is what we speak,
not in words taught us byhuman wisdom but in words
taught by the Spirit, expressingspiritual truths in spiritual
words.
The man without the Spirit doesnot accept the things that come
from the Spirit of God, for they arefoolishness to him, and he cannot
understand them, because they arespiritually discerned. The spiritualman makes judgments about all
things, but he himself is notsubject to any man’s judgment…
we have the mind of Christ.” I Cor. 2:12-16
