Transitional stage of physical and psychological development

A young person develops from a child into an adult

Adolescence:
• Physical environment has great status significance to the adolescent.
• Social problems are compounded progressively earlier physical maturation of children.
• Parental behavior, peer pressure, friends circle etc.
Factors determining the behavior of adolescence
Negative:
• Bullying or abuse by their peers• Lack of communication with parents• Hiding facts from parents• Not following the rules of various
places• Excess use of social media
Causes of positive and negative behavior
Positive:• The children develop self confidence
and takes his/her own decision.• Good parenting system displays
positive behaviour.• Understanding children's behaviours.• Good attention, trust and faith from
society.
Common adolescent behavior problems
• Substance use and abuse in adolescent
• Involve in risky sexual behaviour• Involve in fighting or violence• Self injurious behaviour• Frustration
