FROM THE DIRECTOR Wow, I can hardly believe this year is just about over! Time flies when you’re having... well, time flies. 2021 brought with it an extension of the pandemic, but it appears that we are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I think that 2021 showed us how much resolve we have – as individuals, yes, but more than that as a community – we learned together and worked together to keep what is important to us – important. MCSC is important to each of us, you, me, your neighbor, your community. You may use the Center to get together with friends to play a card game, make a craft, your neighbor may use our transportation service to get to the doctor, in both cases your community is better because MCSC is in it. Monroe Community Senior Center is here because people think it is important, think it is a valuable resource. At this time of thanksgiving, I want to express how thankful I am to you! You’ve supported the Center through this difficult time, either by donating your time as a volunteer and/or donating your dollars so that MCSC can pay its bills to remain a viable organization. I am thankful that you understand our mission and want to see MCSC successful. I am thankful that the Senior Center has been able to do the things that we’ve been able to, offer the classes, games and events that we’ve been able to do and just be the best place we can be for you. If there is something you think we should do in addition or do differently – please let us know, we would love to hear from you. During this holiday season, please know that MCSC is here for you, if you want to come in and chat or just to share ideas and thoughts – please come and visit, even stay for lunch if you want! Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends and definitely enjoy them with us! We have drive-thru dinner planned for Thanksgiving and Christmas, please, please show your MCSC pride and join the fun, be part of the MCSC success in our community! ~Jacob McGee, Executive Director 360-794-6359 | [email protected]

FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT I remember when I was a little boy. I couldn't believe it took a full year for the Christmas
Season to arrive. To my child mind, it just wasn't fair. Now it seems, every time I turn around,
the Holiday Season is staring me in the face.
My view and expectations may have adjusted through the years but there is still something
very special about this time of the year. There is something that awakens and often softens our
hearts. There is time to truly celebrate our friends and family relationships and to take stock in
our blessings.
In our wonderful country, we celebrate from more than one angle, both religious and Santa
focused along with celebration traditions from around the world. We have learned to embrace
them together, with and for each other.
At the Monroe Community Senior Center, we are set and ready to enjoy every moment of this
Season with you and yours. Please check our activity calendar as there will be dinners and
gatherings. We will be making ourselves available to help get you around town on our bus or
hosting our usual array of activities at the Center.
However you choose to spend this Holiday season, we wish you the best of
every moment and hope you will choose to share some of those moments
with us, right here at the Monroe Community Senior Center.
Here's to you,
Craig

**November 30th, 2021** Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that will take
place on November 30, 2021.
It is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of
radical generosity to transform communities and the world.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of
millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
It’s an opportunity for people around the world to come together to thank, help, give, show
kindness, and share what they have with those in need.
Even in times of economic uncertainty, we each have a deep reserve of generosity, which we can
deploy in myriad ways to make a difference--your time, your kindness, your skills, your voice are
all things you can give in addition to charitable donations.
You can donate to MCSC in many ways: Visit www.mcsc.org and contribute through our secure website.
Mail a check to P.O. Box 602 Monroe, WA 98272 or stop on by, we’re open 9am-3pm weekdays.
We are SO appreciative of your contributions and work hard to use the funds
to their best advantage.
