Quick Parts in Outlook• Open a new blank email
• Set text format to ‘Plain text’
Quick Parts in Outlook• Compose your email
• Highlight your email
Quick Parts in Outlook• Open Quick Parts (‘Insert’ tab, ‘Text’ tools)
• Save selection
Quick Parts in Outlook• Give your Quick Part a name
• Assign it to a category
Quick Parts in Outlook• Organise your Quick Parts
Templates in Outlook• Compose the email
Templates in Outlook• Save the template as an Outlook Template object
Templates in Outlook• Open the template:
• Home
• New Items
• More Items
• Choose Form…
Templates in Outlook
• Navigate to File
• Scroll down to User Templates in File System
Templates in Outlook• Add a shortcut to the
Quick Access Toolbar
• Home
• New Items
• More Items
• Choose Form
• Right click…
Templates in Outlook
• Select Add to Quick Access Toolbar
• New shortcut will save you a few clicks each time
Templates in Word• Compose the basic letter or form
Templates in Word• Save the template as a Word Template object
Templates in Word• Create a new
document based on your template:
• File
• New
• Personal
• Select template
Templates in Word• Avoid making
changes to the master template!
• You’ll know you’re editing the correct doc if the default Filename starts with ‘Document’
• Save even more time by adding a shortcut to the Quick Access Toolbar
