TodaywebeginHolyWeek,andwehaveanopportunitytomakethese168hoursspecialandholy.WecandothisbycomingtoMasseachday,byspendingextratimeinprayer,bygratefullyreflectinguponJesus’loveandsacrificeforus,byreadingtheBible,byhelpingothers,orbydoinganythingspecialtoremindourselvesthatthisweekisdifferent;itisholy.WecallitHolyWeek–beginningtodaywiththecelebrationof“PalmSundayoftheLord’sPassion”–becauseitistheweekinwhichJesusgaveustheEucharist,sufferedanddiedforusandrosefromthedead.SodosomethingspecialthisweektothankGod,tothankJesusforyourfaithandforallhehasdoneforyou.EvenifyouhavenotfollowedthroughonyourLentenresolutions,makethisweekdifferent:forthiswholeweekgivesomethingupyoureallylikedoingoreating;readtheBible;sayafamilyrosarytogether;makepeacewithsomeone;watchareligiousmovieorTVprogram;gotoMass.WehaveMass8a.m.and5:30p.m.asusualonMonday,TuesdayandWednesday.

LentendsonHolyThursdaybeforetheMassoftheLord’sSupper.HolyThursday,GoodFridayandHolySaturday/EasterSundayarecalledthe“Triduum,”whichisLatinfor“threedays;”ThesearethemostimportantthreedaysofthewholeyearforusCatholics–moreimportanteventhanChristmasorAshWednesday.TheTriduumisthecornerstoneofourCatholicfaith,soweshoulddoallwecantoattendtheservicesonthesedays.OnHolyThursdaytherewillonlybeoneMass,theMassoftheLord’sSupperat7:30p.m.,inwhichwecommemorateJesus’

institutionoftheEucharistandthepriesthood.Itwillbeamultilingualcelebrationsothattheentireparishcancometogethertocelebrateourfaithasonecommunity.AtthatMasswewillalsohonorJesus’great,humbleactionofwashinghisdisciples’feet.AftertheMasswewillprocesstotheparishcenterforadorationoftheBlessedSacramentuntilmidnight.ThefirsthourofadorationwillfeatureprayersandsongsledbytheHispanicCommunity;thesecondhourtherewillbeinstrumentalmusicinthebackground;andthethirdhourwillbeinsilence.

OnGoodFridaythereisnoMass.InsteadwewillcelebratetheStationsoftheCrossatnoon.ThenwewillcommemoratetheSevenLastWordsofJesusonthe

TherearenoconfessionsonHolySaturdayandthereisno5:30Mass.TheonlyMassonHolySaturdaywillbeat8:00p.m.,thegreatEasterVigil–themostimportantMassoftheentireyear–inwhichour

catechumenswillbebaptizedandreceivetheSacramentsofEucharistandConfirmation.Thisbeautifulcelebrationwillbebilingualandwillprobablylasttwotothreehours.

OnEasterSundaywewillhaveafullscheduleofMassesasoneverySunday.
