MolybdenumI 5600 A Large, Bowl-Shaped {Mo51V9} Polyoxometalate. — Dark-red crystals of

(NH4)21[Mo51V9(NO)12O165(OH)3(H2O)3(NHMe2)3]·xH2O (x ≈ 60) are hydrothermally synthesized from an aqueous solution of Na2MoO4, NH4VO3, NH2OH·HCl, NH4OAc, and HCl (autoclave, 160 °C, 24 h; low yield). The compound crystallizes in the ortho-rhombic space group Pnma with Z = 4.
