ACRYLIC PAINTING5
Stenciling
Shapes are cut out from cardboard, paper or
plastic and used as masks to apply acrylic colors
on specific areas. Helps in creating monotone as
well as intricate shapes.
AcrylicGlazing
Colors are applied in layers to achieve a glazing
effect. Once the first layer has dried completely,
a second one is applied on top of it, and this
continues for as many layers as needed.
ImpastoPaints are applied directly from their tubes in
order to achieve a thick and textured surface.
They are sometimes manipulated with the help
of a retarder.
AcrylicSgraffito
After application of colors in layers, a tool is
used for scratching away the top ones
strategically. Sgraffito literally means ‘to
scratch’.
Flat Colour
Characterised by flat and uniform color areas
created using opaque acrylic colors only. Comes
in handy when something abstract needs to be
created, especially one featuring flat sections of
colors having crisp & precise edges.
