SAMBA/RAJOURI: Police on Thursday foiled four bovinesmuggling bid by rescuing 27 bovines and arresting a smuggler.

According to a report, a team of Ghagwal Police Station head-ed by SI Bansi Lal Sharma SHO Ghagwal Police Station onthe directions of SSP Samba Dr Koushal Kumar Sharma laida Naka on Jammu Pathankot National Highway near Tapyaland signalled a truck (JK02AS- 9811) coming from Kathuaside but driver on seeing the police accelerated the vehicle andfled from spot.

He was chased and intercepted near Jatwal. During check-ing, it was found laden with 13 bovines which were rescued andthe truck was seized. The driver of the vehicle managed toescape from the spot, however a case vide FIR No. 109/2018under section 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at PoliceStation Ghagwal.

In Rajouri District, a team from Kalakote Police Station res-cued three bovines from smugglers at Potha. Bid was foiledafter cops saw some people moving along with bovines at somedistance and challenged them to stop but smugglers fled backleaving behind three bovines.

Another police team headed by Incharge PP Lamberi, SIVikram Jasrotia rescued four bovines. An information aboutmovement of smugglers was received after which police teamrushed to Dhankaar Lamberi Road but smugglers saw policevehicle from some distance and fled from there leaving behindfour bovines. A team from Budhal Police Station arrestedShabir Ahmed son of Abdul Hamid resident of Draman whowas found carrying seven bovines in a smuggling bid by foot.All the bovines have been rescued. Police has taken cognisancein all these cases at Police Stations of Kalakote, Nowshera andBudhal.

Notorious criminal, drug peddlerdetained under PSA

STATE TIMES NEWSSAMBA: A notorious criminal and drug peddler was detainedunder PSA at Samba on Thursday.

He has been identified as Shiv Raj Singh (26) son of IsherSingh resident of Gurha Slathia Samba.

In order to curtail the activities of hardcore criminal who isinvolved in number of criminal activities and is a great threatto the life and liberty of the people of Samba District particu-larly Vijaypur town, a special team of Police Station Vijaypurunder the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma,SSP Samba and under close supervision of Baljeet Singh,SDPO Vijaypurand Inspr. Rajinder Sharma, SHO PoliceStation Vijaypur was constituted and the arrest of the saidaccused person was affected. Influential and hardcore criminal,the subject is also a notorious drug peddler and involved in anumber of drug smuggling cases.

Accordingly, in order to put an end to his prejudicial criminalactivities, District Police Samba compiled all the police recordof said Shiv Raj Singh alias Raju prepared his dossier and gotissued his warrant under Public Safety Act from SushmaChauhan, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Samba vide her officeorder No. 03/PSA of 2018 dated August 6, 2018 to preventhim from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities and lodgedthe said detune in Sub-Jail Hiranagar on August 9, 2018 afterexecution of warrant under PSA issued against him. With thearrest of said hardcore criminal/drug peddler the people of thearea had a sigh of relief.

RAJOURI: Four persons have been taken into preventive cus-tody for their involvement in anti-social activities.

Complaint/dossier for their detention was submitted beforeExecutive Magistrates by police and detention order wereissued by Executive Magistrates.

Among these four, three persons were detained in Darhal whoinclude Altaf Hussain son of Hamidullah resident of Chowkian( Aged 35 ), Zaffer Iqbal son of Abdul Hamid resident ofChowkian (32) and Mohd Imran son of Mohd Ayoub residentof Chowkian (22).

Their detention order were issued by Executive Magistratefrom Darhal and have been detained under preventive deten-tion under section 107/151/110 CRPC and lodged in DistrictJail Dhangri and detention order was implemented by SHODarhal Habib Pathan under the supervision of SDPOThanamandi Iftikar Chowdhary.

Meanwhile, a team of police headed by SHO Budhal JahangirAhmed implemented an order for detention of Sajad Ahmedson of Abdul Qayoom resident of Samote Budhal. The order fortaking him in preventive custody was issued by ExecutiveMagistrate on the basis of a complaint /dossier submitted bylocal police. He has also been lodged in District jail Dhangri.

RAJOURI: A missing girl has been traced by police and hand-ed over to her family. Missing report of the girl was lodged byher brother in Budhal Police Station on August 6, who report-ed that his real sister had left the house on August 4 , due tosome arguments with her elder sister. On this, a missing reportwas entered vide DD no.11 dated August 6, 2018 and searchwas started. Meanwhile, today it was reliably learnt that thesaid girl is at Kotranka in the house of her friend and she wastraced accordingly and then handed over to her family aftercompletion of legal formalities.

BHADARWAH: Police on Thursday solved a theft case byarresting two thieves and recovering stolen money. As per thedetail, a local shopkeeper namely Zahoor Ahmed reported atheft case in his shop at Seri Bazar, Bhadarwah in PoliceStation Bhadarwah stating that his shop is located at SeriBazar Bhaderwah and at 1: 20 PM he came out of his shop forwater and after five minutes he came back and saw one personcoming out of his shop with cash in his hand whom he can iden-tify but did not know his name. On checking cash box he cameto know that Rs 52,000 have been stolen by that person. Onthis a case vide FIR No.136/2018 under section 379 RPC wasregistered and during investigation on examining CCTVfootage the accused was identified as Talha son of ShabirAhmed Sheikh resident of Saraf Mohalla. Police tacticallyapprehended him and on his disclosure amount of Rs 44000were recovered and amount of Rs 7900 was recovered from hisfriend Omar son of Farooq Ahmed R/O Saraf Mohalla. Boththe accused have been arrested and recovered the stolenamount. The arrest and recovery was made by Police Party ofPolice Station Bhadarwah led by SHO Bhadarwah InpMuneer Khan under the supervision of SDPO BhadarwahTouseef Ahmed, ASP Bhadarwah Rajinder Singh and overallsupervision of SSP Doda Shabir Malik.

UDHAMPUR: Police on Thursday arrested a thief and recov-ered stolen bike on his disclosure. Acting on complaint of ownerof bike Puran Singh son of Indar Singh resident of village Rittilocality, Roun Police Post team led by In charge Police PostJaswinder Singh assisted by Sgt. Gian Singh and SPOKuldeep Kumar under the supervision of Dy.SP (HQ) KulbirHanda conducted raids to nab a local thieve and arrested himfrom Udhampur outskirt. The Div Com also reviewedthe achievements registeredunder agriculture and alliedsector schemes in the area.

He took detailed review of theprogress on tourism, infra-structural projects besides flag-ship schemes of AgricultureHorticulture including promo-tion of cluster organic farmingand indigenous practices beingadopted by the farming com-munity of Sudhmahadev -Mantalai areas for their eco-nomic and social empower-ment. The Div Com inspectedongoing construction onInternational Yoga CentreMantalai and instructed theconcerned agencies for its time-ly completion. He asked

Agriculture department toexplore the possibility of devel-oping Potato farm, Appleorchards, Walnut orchards andother fruit orchards on Stateland.

Later, the DivisionalCommissioner chaired a meet-ing of District/ Sectoral officersof line departments andreviewed the functioning ofthese departments.

The meeting had detailed dis-cussion on various vital issuespertaining to Agriculture,Horticulture, Health, PWD,PMGSY, PDD, Education andother sectors. The meetingstressed on widening ofChenani Sudhmahadev road

and adopting multi prongedstrategy to further streamlinethe working of executing agen-cies and other connecteddepartments for time boundcompletion of projects aimed atpromotion of tourism in thearea. The Div Com emphasizedupon the officers and executingagencies to speed up the paceof work on all developmentaland tourism projects toensure their timeline comple-tion. He directed the districtadministration to remove bot-tleneck, if any to avoid delayand cost escalation of the proj-ects. During the review meet-ing, the Div.Com directed theofficers to work with full dedi-

cation and accountability. Heasked them to resolve the griev-ances of the common masses ina time bound manner and alsoorganize awareness camps andworkshops at block levels toenable maximum farmers toavail the benefits of schemes.

He also asked the concernedto ensure availability of seeds,fertilizers, pesticides and otherinputs for the farmers.

The DivisionalCommissioner also interactedwith members of Umeed SelfHelp Group, NGOs,Sudhmahadev VegetableProducer Company Ltd andappreciated their work. Hegave a patient hearing to theirdemands and assured earlyredress.

Div Com asked the DDC toidentify land for establishmentof Mandi to provide market tolocal agriculture produce andalso identify suitable Place forshops on National highwaywhere local producers can selltheir packed products. Hedirected Agriculture,Horticulture and Rural DevDepartment to work in coordi-nation for effective implemen-tation of Centrally SponsoredSchemes (CSS).

Of 35 injured 28are under treatment at CHCKalakote whereas five werereferred to DH Rajouri and2 of SDH Sunderbani afterfirst aid and initial diagnosis.

On recievingthe informa-tion, Deputy CommissionerRajouri Mohd Aijaz Asad vis-ited Community HealthCentre Kalakote andenquired about the healthconditions of injured whomet with an accident atTatapani.
