Philharmonic celebrate the 250th birthday of one
of music’s most acclaimed composers, Ludwig
van Beethoven. Experience an incredible lineup
of artists, concerts, and events that display
the composer’s creative genius. Masterworks, the DPO’s flagship series, not only celebrates
Beethoven but also pays homage to great
woman composers through the ages. The season
showcases work by Jennifer Jolley, Amy Beach,
Florence Price, Stella Sung, Reena Esmail, Amy
Scurria and Clara Schumann. The Recital Series
includes two intimate chamber concerts at the
beautiful Dayton Art Institute featuring works
by Beethoven, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart and
more. The Family Series delights both young
and old with PhilharMonster, plus matinee
performances of both The Nutcracker and Peter
Pan. SuperPops revisits the music of the great
American film composer John Williams and also
pays tribute to James Bond and jazz. Rockin’ Orchestra celebrates the music of the most
popular ’70s, ’80s and ’90s rock bands and kicks
off its season with a special tribute to Dayton’s
Funk legacy!
