Introduction
Welcoming 2017 when Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia will serve as SEAMEO Council President, SEAMEO
Secretariat together with the Directors of SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia have initiated to develop a Collaborative Program
on SEAMEO Education Agenda and action agenda for 3 years (FY 2018-2020). The Action Agenda were products of a
series of consultation meetings with the Directorate Generals of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) and the
Directorate General of Learning, Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education held from August 9th to 12th 2016
and 23rd to 24th February 2017 in MoEC office in Jakarta.
During the Consultation meetings, SEAMES together with 9 centres’ representatives from SEAMEO BIOTROP, SEAMEO
QITEP in Language (SEAQIL), SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics (SEAQIM), SEAMEO QITEP in Science (SEAQIS),
SEAMEO RECFON, SEAMEO RIHED, SEAMEO SEAMOLEC, SEAMEO SPAFA, and SEAMEO TROPMED presented
the flagship centre’s on-going programmes with significant impacts to education development. The consultation meetings
have resulted to possible programs of cooperation as listed.
