    Our National FootprintThe infrastructure of the USBC allows for a quick mobilization of messaging and support in all 50 states. National

    policy positions are nalized in our Washington, DC headquarters, and then ltered throughout the country by ve

    Regional Directors that ensure and support the delivery of messaging to our 115 Black Chambers and Business

    Associations. Our mobilization includes highly targeted communications from chamber leaders to local business,

    community leaders, elected ofcials and policy staff.

    We take pride in our ability to inuence policy by generating letters of support, calls, and face-to-face meetings with

    key decision makers at the local, state, and federal levels as it relates to Black and small businesses.

    ADVOCACYThe USBC ghts for legislation thatpromotes small business growth,particularly policies that address thechallenges of Black business owners.We understand the importance ofmaintaining a bipartisan approach toadvocacy, and hence, collaborate withpolicy makers from all political aflia-tions to advocate for policies that bestserve the interest of the Black com-

    munity.

    ACCESS TO CAPITALCapital access remains the most im-portant factor limiting the establish-ment, expansion and growth of Black-owned businesses. The USBC workswith nancial institutions, particularlyBlack-owned institutions, to create av-enues by which Black businesses cangain greater access to credit, capitaland other nancial instruments.

    CONTRACTINGAt the USBC, our goal is to level theplaying eld by helping members gainaccess to business opportunities inprivate and public sectors. We ac-complish this by educating memberson contract opportunities, helpingthem increase their capacity to bid forlarge scale contracts, and offering re-sources and information that enhanceBlack owners ability to compete.

    ENTREPRENEUR TRAININGThe USBC is committed to helpingBlack business leaders achieve stellarperformance and growth through en-trepreneur and business managementtraining. Hence, we deliver qualityeducational opportunities and profes-sional development resources thathelp our members manage and growsuccessful businesses.

    CHAMBER DEVELOPMENTThe growth and development of Blackchambers of commerce is a core fo-cus of the USBC. As such, we lever-age our role as a national organiza-tion, provide technical assistance andleadership training to members cham-bers, assist with the establishment onew Black chambers, and facilitatethe sharing of best practices and in-dustry data among our members. To

    do this, we utilize a variety of mecha-nisms including, training, web-basedtools, peer networking, coaching, andinformation products. In addition, theUSBC School of Chamber Manage-ment offers a broad range of cours-es, from basic chamber managementcourses for individuals new to the pro-fession, to advanced level courses foexperienced chamber managers andexecutives.
