5 – Maths matching game
Teach your children the links between the length of time and how they relate.
E.g. 1 hour is the same as 60 minutes, there are 60 minutes in an hour, etc.
Cut the cards up and play by picking up the correct pairs.

You can link quarter past and quarter to with fractions. We have looked at ¼ (1 out of
four sections = a quarter) when we learnt fractions. A quarter of an hour = 15
minutes
Remember the long hand shows the minutes within the hour. The short hand shows
what hour it is.
Draw the hands on the clock faces to show the correct time. If you don’t have a
printer, you can always draw your own on a plain piece of paper.
