Submission of Projects
The deadline for submission of projects is 13 April 2010
Include Introduction to Project and Synopsis

Synopsis Written in English / Chinese, should not exceed 1,000
words for English or 1,500 words for Chinese.
Type A Project: Invention setting out the background, research method and
basic scientific principles submitted together with 4 sets of the objects’ or
devices’ photos
Type B Project: Investigation explaining the background, research methodology,
investigation and conclusion.

Introduction to Project Will be judged and put in the brochure of the
Initial Judging Written in English AND Chinese which contents

Font type: Arial, 細圓體 Font size: 10 Double-spaced on A4-sized paper No binding 4 copies of each

An actual device or a model not bigger than 90cm x 90 cm x 90 cm with an explanatory paper including technical drawings setting out the details of the entry; OR
A computer program /model ready for demonstration on a personal computer
Models should not be submitted to the Secretariat

Submission Format Type B Project: Investigation
A report describing the investigation should be typed, double-spaced, in English / Chinese on A4-sized paper without binding
This report (4 copies) should not exceed 3,000 words in English or 4,500 words in Chinese
The report should include relevant drawings, photos, tables, charts, etc to support the findings

Initial Judging cum Project Exhibition
Date : 15 May 2010 (Saturday) Time : 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Venue: Hong Kong Science Park, Shatin All teams are required to display their project
materials in exhibition booth Teams will give their presentation at their
respective exhibition booths Each team will be given not more than 5
minutes for presentation and 4 minutes for question and answer
10 teams from each division (Senior and Junior Division) will be selected for the Final Judging

Final Judging cum Award Presentation Ceremony
Date : 5 June 2010 (Saturday)
Venue : Auditorium and Conference Hall 3-4, Hong Kong Science Park
Teams will be given around 8 minutes to present their projects, judges will have around 4 minutes to ask questions

Winning Teams will be selected to participate in Shanghai Expo 2010 InnoPower

Reimbursement of Project Subsidies
Material costs include the expenses incurred by the project development and decoration of display booth for the Initial Judging.
Teams may claim back to a maximum of $1,000, in which a maximum of $200 can be used for decoration of display booth.
All receipts must be dated after the submission of enrolment forms, i.e. 6 January 2010.
Project Subsidies Reimbursement Form should be submitted with the receipts on or before 15 May 2010.

Teams enter the Final Judging may claim back to a maximum of $200 to modify their finalist project.
All receipts must be dated after the Initial Judging, i.e. 15 May 2010.
