After many years of faithful service at
Good Shepherd we say goodbye to Jono
Shea, our Middle School Minister. He is
leaving to be the Youth Ministry Director
at Blessed Sacrament here in Tallahassee.

We are very grateful for his eight and one
half years ministering with us here at Good Shepherd. We
have been blessed with his dedication and commitment to
our Middle School teenagers: For sharing our faith with
them, helping them to be excited about their faith, inviting
them and encouraging them to participate in the Edge
Middle School Ministry, he visited the schools to meet with
the students during their lunch hour and bring pizza, for
organizing and planning the Middle School retreats, both
here at the parish and at other places, and for the sacrifice
his family made on those weekends when he was away from
them on those retreats. In particular, we thank him for the
weeklong camp trips to Hidden Lake.

He was able to get down to the level of middle schoolers to
play games with them and do some silly activities. He
helped engage the students with various projects such as the
Garage sale, etc and Mission trips. Also, over the last few
months he has helped with livestreaming the Mass.

We wish Jono and his family the very best in the next
chapter of his Ministry. Thank you Jono for growing,
supporting, and loving so many of our Middle School Youth
(a.k.a Edglings) throughout the years! God Bless you, Jono,
and your wonderful family!

Word Of Life

Only with prayerprayer that storms the heavens for
justice and mercy, prayer that cleanses our hearts and
soulswill the culture of death that surrounds us today be
replaced with a culture of life." U.S. Catholic Bishops,
Pastoral Plan for ProLife Activities This month we
celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
body and soul, into heavenly glory. Seek the Blessed
Mother’s intercession for mothers and children by offering
a Rosary for the creation of a culture of life in our world.
Give up sleeping on your pillow one night. Offer this
small sacrifice for prolife intentions.
Pastoral Care Call Project: Over the last
several months of isolation and social
distancing, our parish has been reaching out to
fellow parishioners through telephone calls to
check on families, gather prayer requests and
provide pastoral care. Thank you to the many
wonderful volunteers who have participated! It has been a
beautiful way to maintain and build community during this
difficult time. This project is continuing and if you are
interested in volunteering, please contact Elyse Tweedie at
8931837 or via email at [email protected]. May our
care and concern for each other shine as a bright light of
God’s love and presence in the world.
God's heart is moved to act when his people cry out to him. The
Father loves it when we, his children, come to him and ask him
to work on our behalf. The word “Intercede” comes from the
Latin “inter” which means “between,” and “ced” which means
“go.” Literally “intercede” means “go between.” Intercessors are
those who are “go betweens” between the Lord and his people.
WE WANT TO PRAY FOR YOU! To submit your prayer
requests: http://gslifeteen.com/intercession.php

MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY
This year will be like never before and we are looking for catechists (teachers) for Children’s Faith
Formation. It is through caring, sharing and praying that our community has grown in love and support of
one another. The success of our religious education program depends on the dedicated individuals in our
parish willing to share their time, talents and faith with the future church, our parish children. We
encourage all parishioners, as well as the parents of children in our program, to be a part of the faith
formation process.

The Mission of a Catechist is an important one. It is a mission that has been given to the whole Church: that every individual
Christian shares in the works of Jesus Christ. The Role of a Catechist is to bring our young people closer to Jesus and grow
in their faith as Catholics. Through their service the catechist nurtures and mentors the faith and spiritual growth of the
children they teach so that they may form a firm commitment to follow Christ. We are looking for catechists for both virtual
and in class instruction. Training will be given for either option. For questions and/or more details please contact Dee Lopez,
Children’s Faith Formation Director at 8508931837 or [email protected]

CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION
Although this year will offer challenges we have not yet faced for teaching Faith Formation to the
Parishchildren, we are excited to work with families to bring Jesus to them! The Parish Staff is
excited to introduce all new curriculum this year that will make faith formation for your children
more engaging than ever before. There are both in classroom and virtual options. We ask that all
families get registered ASAP at: https://goodshepherdparish.org/20202021faithformation.

ya lo posee todo. Dios hizo todo. Todo lo que podemos
hacer es devolverle una parte de los muchos regalos que
Dios nos dio. ¡La gratitud sincera por nuestros dones
