AMI FOR THE RESIDENTIAL SECTOR
Switching Controller Features
The switching controller is a functional device designed to operate within AMI. It enables commu-nication between any electricity meter equipped with a radio channel module and a data controller. Data transfer between meters and a switching controller is made through IEEE802.15.4 radio chan-nel (2.4 GHz), and the data controller – through one of the interfaces (chosen in advance) (depend-ing on device configuration). The controller has a sealed casing. It is powered from a single-phase alternating current network through mains leads connected to the device terminal block. The device is mounted using standard casing fasteners.

KC Data Controller
The controller is a stand-alone device designed to retrieve electricity consumption data remotely from single-phase and three-phase electricity meters equipped with relevant inter-faces and to accumulate and transmit such data to the server. As a part of AMI the controller receives data both from elec-tricity meters and switching controllers, which can function as intermediaries between meters and the data controller within the system. The device can be remotely controlled either via Ethernet or GpRS. The device can also be directly controlled from a computer equipped with the relevant console. The data are stored on an internal memory card (KC-02: 300 Мb; KC-03: up to 4 Gb). An external memory card can be con-nected to save the database.

The casing is made of a flameproof material. The casingdesign allows the taking of meter readings through a viewing window,without removing the cover. Viewing windows are made of UV stabilizedplastic, which remains completely transparent over the course of time;
• The distribution board has universal fasteners for mounting the meterson a DIN rail, as well as for installing and fastening other equipmentinside a switching board (circuit breakers, corrugated pipes, andcables). The board casing can be sealed;
