Summary
Unpracticed land of ancient navigators, Epirus, or country without end. Epirus is
defined from the Ionian Sea in the west, bay of Amvrakikos on the south, sierra of Pintos
on the east and a line that intersects the mountain volumes and intermediate and narrow
valleys of the Ivan mountain to Akrokerafnia on the north.
Was Epirus deserted and uninhabited country? Detached and isolated from the rest of
the world? Inhospitable to mankind?
In these questions we will try to answer by doing a long and charming journey in time
and space, with the help of Cartographic science and modern technology. Starting from
the Paleolithic era (40,000 BC), incurring prehistory and passing into history we will
come in the end of pre Christian period. We will discover the lands and the borders of
prehistoric people, the tribes which settled at certain times in Epirus, their spreading
through axes of relations and contacts and their activities.
