• Pediatrician’s RecommendationsThe American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is worried that American children spend too much time in front of the TV. The AAP suggests that pediatricians help parents evaluate their children’s entertainment habits. Doctors are concerned that children who spend too much time in front of the TV don’t get enough exercise. At least one in five children is overweight. In the last 20 years, this number has increased more than 50 percent.

The AAP recommends that children under two not watch any TV at all. It is essential that small children have direct interactions with parents for healthy brain growth. The AAP advises that parents offer children stimulating activities.

The AAP recommends that pediatricians be good role models by not having TVs in their waiting rooms.

• 2. 语序• 1) 陈述句变为宾语从句，语序不变，即仍用陈述语序。如：

boy.• 2) 一般疑问句和特殊疑问句变为宾语从句，语序变为陈述语序。如：

• Does he work hard ？ I wonder.• I wonder if/whether he works hard.• When did he leave ？ I don’t know. • I don’t know when he left.

• 3. 时态• 1) 如果主句是现在时态，从句的时态可根据实际情况而定。如：

• I have already known （ that ） he will return next week.

• 2) 如果主句是过去时态，那么从句一定要用过去的某种时态。如：

• He said （ that ） there were few people yesterday.

• 注意：• 1. 如果宾语从句表述的是客观真理、自然现象等时，不管主句是什么时态，从句都要用一般现在时。如：

• The teacher told us that light travels much faster than sound.

• 2. 另外，还有一个句子结构不需要还原陈述句语序。如：

• I don’t know what’s wrong with you. • I don’t know what’s the trouble with you.

• 3. 宾语从句的人称要根据主句进行适当地调整。如：

• “May I use your phone ？” He asked me. He asked me if he might use my phone.

• “Do you know her address ？” He asked me.

• He asked me if I know her address.
