• Žižkov is a district of Prague which is located east of the center.

History

• Žižkov was created in 1875, when it was separated from Královské Vinohrady.

• Since 1960, it has been the main part of the city’s Prague 3 perimeter.

The Church of Saint Procopius

• This church is located at Sladkovský Square and is an architecturally dominant building in Prague.

• It was opened in 1903 and completely renovated between 1992 and 1997.

The Church of Saint Roch

• This church was built in the Baroque style and is located at Olšany Square.

• It is the oldest church in Žižkov.

The National Memorial on Vítkov Hill

• This memorial was built in 1933, to revere the memory of the Czechoslovak Legion, who fought during World War I.
