Christina joined Zeta Zeta Chapter in May of 2016. She attended the University of South Florida, and currently teaches seventh and eighth grade math and science.Christina is a pretty staunch “non-math person” turned 8th-grade math teacher with all the corny shirts to go along with the job. She has also taught 5/6 grade GATE and second grade.

Christina was a past winner of the Penne Ferrell Literacy Award. She enjoys painting, planning lessons, and being with her husband, Fernando and their beagle, Lucy. Christina also enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and other adrenaline inducing activities!

One of the most impactful parts of her education journey has been phenomenal mentors who have invested in her in ways that she could never have imagined. Since her first encounter with her internship mentor, Christina knew that she wanted to mentor teachers throughout her own career. Through LRTT (Limited Resource Teacher Training) she will have an opportunity to impact teachers in Tanzania by empowering them through collaboration and mentorship.

She reached her goal on GoFundMe, but is still accepting donations to cover food, room, and board for one month as well as the plane ticket. We wish you well, Christina, in reaching for your dream. We love her joy and enthusiasm for life!
