Introductory-Zero Training for Capacity Building trainings in WP2- Part I EU partner universities, University of Debrecen and University of Heidelberg made extensive presentations of their activities in multidisciplinary fields of public health and medical informatics, with special focus on education and research.

1. Prof.dr Adany Roza presented activities of the University of Debrecen, Hungary, highlighting their experience in: (i) education at different levels, from bachelor to PhD programs; (ii) research projects, and (iii) participation in different bodies and associations at national, EU and global level (e.g. leader of Budapest Public health program; WHO Collaborating Centre on Vulnerability and Health, etc.).

2. Max Seitz made overview of educational and research activities at University of Heidelberg and introduced participants with session scheduled for the 3rd meeting day:

meeting with leaders of different research projects in the field of medical informatics; presentation of ongoing research activities and current progress of research results. All PH-ELIM participants will have opportunity to select specific research areas (from available list of ongoing projects in the field of medical informatics at University of Heidelberg), participate at presentation of selected projects as special opportunity to share ideas and experience with research teams engaged for implementation of the project.

- education at different levels, from bachelor to PhD programs at different departments (Department of Nursing Sciences and Gerontology; Department of Public Health, Health Service Research and HTA; Department of Biomedical Computer Science and Mechatronics; Department of Psychology and Medical Sciences);

- research and on-going projects at the Institute of Medical Informatics, in the following areas: (1) Evidence-Based Health Informatics; (2) Health IT for Patient Safety; (3) Health and Clinical Data Sciences; (4) Learning analytics; and (5) Systematic IT Management.
