The School collects, combines and renews the solid experience of the Schools of Architecture, Civil Architecture and Building Engineering-Architecture of the Polytechnic, combining the contributions of the humanities and the arts with those of exact and technical sciences.To this end, it aims to strengthen the collaboration between the expertise present the University community, which makes up the required contributions to outline a coherent and suitable training process.The School is connected to the DAStU, ABC, DICA and Mathematics Departments.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STUDIO
At the beginning of the Master of Science, the design experience develops the ability to managethe configuration process of the architecturethrough the knowledge of the Mantuan context as a study area, of materials, of constructive elementsand executive techniques, of environmental and functional needs. Are introduced the path in the historical area and that in the representation area.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN IN HISTORICAL CONTEXT
STUDIO
In the second semester of the first year, the project experience deepens the architectural design process with the knowledge of an international historical context and of its cultural, environmental and material implications.The design component is intensified with the contribution on both the Studio sections of an international designer teacher such as Eduardo Souto de Moura and with the collaboration of Joao Luis Carrillho da Graca.

FINAL WORKSHOP ANTICO E NUOVO
In the last semester of the Master of Science, the final project experience deals with the intervention on the historical building with the case study of the Palazzo Ducale of Mantua.The two sections of the workshop face up to the disciplinary areas of the architectural design, of the preservation design, of the survey advanced techniques, of the museographic and interior design, of the landscape preservation.The Final Workshop Antico e Nuovo is a prerequisite for the Master's degree thesis.

The student chose the section of the Studio. The allocation in the Studio is by merit: informal exchange is not allowed.
In the event of great disparity between the members of the sections, the Coordinator, together with the Secretary, transfers some students between the sections, in order to have balanced numbers. The
transfer takes place according to a student list by merit.Students have the opportunity to submit a “Request Application for Transfer” to the Coordinator.
The requests will be evaluated, and will be taken into consideration only those "which demonstrate the concrete impossibility of the student to the frequency of a specific laboratory".

THE COORDINATOR OF THE MASTER OF SCIENCE

The Coordinator of the Course of Study:_ represents the Course of Study at the School Board, and works with the Dean of the School and in the Board meetings;_ calls and directs the Master of Science Board, composed of all the teachers, and drafts the record of the decisions approved by the Board;_ together with the Re-examination Commission, writes the annual Review Report on the quality assessment of the Course of Study;_ coordinates the teachers of the Master of Science including the Visiting Professor, organizes the didactic framework, the timetable of the lessons, guarantees the quality of the teaching methods;_ confronts and communicates with the students through the Student Representative, collaborating with this, on observance of the School regulations and the rights and duties of the students;_ coordinates the Commission for the evaluation of applications for admission of Italian and international students, comparing it with the School on the number of admissions;_ is the Chairman of the Commissione Unica of the Master's Degree, designate the Commissioni Operative, organizes the Graduate sessions and proclaims the new graduates.

The Student Representative:_ he receives the requests presented by the students of the Course of Study and plays the role of mediator between them and the teaching body;_ he participates in the Master of Science Board with the right to vote, bringing the requests and problems of the students;_ he coordinates the students involved by the annual commission on the Review Report on the quality assessment of the Course of Study; _ he interfaces and communicates with the Coordinator of the Study Program, collaborating with this, on observance of the School regulations and the rights and duties of the students;_ he represents the Course of Study at the School's Professor-Student Joint Committee.
THE ROLE OF THE STUDENTS AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVES
Students have the right to participate in the life and governance of the University, through theirRepresentatives they are asked to express their opinion on the University management bodies.

Student Representatives are the simplest and mosteffective means of getting students' proposals and requests on basic subjects, such as teaching and services for students, to the appropriate locations.
THE STUDENT’S OPINION: THE SURVEYS
The survey of student’s opinions is one of the main tools for monitoring the Quality of University Didactics: An ANONYMOUS but MANDATORY online questionnaire for enrollment in exams, for each course that
the student is enrolled in.
By completing the questionnaire, students actively participate in the process of growth and consolidation.
Precisely because weight is given to opinions, students are invited to:− Pay particular attention to the compilation,− Give informed and consistent answers to the questions,− Provide proactive and constructive comments in free spaces.

PROFESSOR-STUDENT JOINT COMMITTEEOF THE SCHOOL
It is called Commissione Paritetica and it is made up to 5 teachers and 5 students representing the School Courses of Study.
The Committee has the task of:_ monitoring the educational offer, the quality of teaching ans services to the students;_ identify indicators for the evaluation of monitoring results;_ elaborate on proposals for the improvement of the Courses of Study to be addressed to the Dean and the Evaluation Unit.
In the Professor-Student Joint Committee are also:1 teacher representing the Master of Science the Student Representative of the Master of Science.

The Territorial Pole of Mantua of the Milan Polytechnic is a seat of UNESCO Chair in Architectural Preservation and Planning in World Heritage Cities. The program pursues the strategic goal of creating new educational programs, generating new ideas and reflections in
the area of scientific research, and facilitating exchange between Universities.Started in 2012, in light of the good results achieved, in 2016 it has been renewed for another 4

FINAL EXAMThe Master of Science Final Exam consist of the presentation and discussion of an original thesis, written by students (maximum two) under the guidance of a supervisor.
For the Master of Science in Architectural Design and History:_ a thesis consist of a design dissertation or a technical report making up a volume. In both cases theses must be presented with graphic plates – in free form and no fewer than 10 in number – summarising its contents;
_ dissertations can be written in English or Italian. Where dissertations are written in Italian, all written sectionsmust be accompanied by a full English translation;
_ presentation and related discussion by the Board of a thesis dissertation in English or Italian, as preferred by candidates
