STIGMA IS MULTI-FACETED
HIV/STI stigma is not just about having a bodilyaffliction.
Stereotypes about race/ethnicity,gender, poverty, and social
deviance shape publicattitudes toward STIs and HIV.
According to Erving Goffamn (1963) there are twotypes of
stigmatizing attitudes:
FELT STIGMA = shame
ENACTED STIGMA = discrimination
