Zebra manuactures labels, receipts, tags and wristbands or a wide variety o

applications. They are designed to deliver the very best results rom Zebra printers.

LabelsSel-adhesive labels can be paper or synthetic, direct thermal

or thermal transer, and are supplied with either a permanent or

removable adhesive. Labels have three main layers: acestock

(with or without top-coating), adhesive and liner.

FacestockLabels are made o paper or synthetic material, with or without

a top-coating. Top-coatings can be added to allow or enhance

printability or to give protection against environmental infuences

such as moisture, chemicals or abrasion.

AdhesiveDierent adhesives are available according to the labels end use.

Permanent adhesive

Cannot be removed without ripping the acestock or leaving

residue on the labelled surace

Removable adhesive

Can easily be peeled away without damaging the label or the

labelled surace

Special-purpose adhesive

e.g. adhesives which can resist reezer temperatures or oer

extra high adhesion to certain suraces.

Release linerThe liner is the siliconised carrier rom which the labels are

peeled or dispensed. Liners are usually yellow or white in colour

and tend to be paper-based.

Tags/ticketsTags and tickets are non-adhesive products, available in paper

and synthetic and sometimes made with punch holes to be tied

or stapled to products or identication.

ReceiptsZebra receipt papers are direct thermal papers, thinner than

traditional tags. Zebra has various products between 60 and 110

microns thick or use in our mobile, desktop and kiosk printers.

WristbandsThermally printed wristbands are used in healthcare and leisure

applications or patient identication, patron access control and

sta identication.

Thermal transer ribbonsRibbons are used to print onto thermal transer products. The

ribbon consists o three layers: the carrier lm, the ink layer and

the backcoating. It prints by transerring ink rom the carrier lm

onto the label using heat generated when the printhead passes

over it. Thermal transer ribbons come in three main types: wax,

wax/resin and resin.

Print technology

Direct thermal (D) and Thermal transer (T) are two dierent

printing technologies having dierent eatures and benets,
