The new 2012-2014 ZANT Board has been installed and
has met several times in the past few weeks. We are
thankful to have this opportunity to contribute and per-
petuate the growth of the DFW Zoroastrian commu-
nity. With our new Darbe Mehr and our ever-growing list
of community activities, it is truly an exciting time.
We are deeply indebted to the outgoing ZANT Board for
the foundation put in place over the past two years. They
left no stone unturned and have left us a thriving and vi-
brant community. We look forward to getting involved
and strive to continue meeting the spiritual, cultural, and
social needs of our community. As always, please feel
free to contact any of the board members with feedback
or comments.

The ZANT Youth Subcommittee is holding its first event, a Youth Summer Camp, conducted by the
youth, for the youth. This is a structured event with
specific activities planned for each day.
Both Dallas AND Houston youth will be participating.
This is an opportunity to finally meet and talk to people
about their own unique experience as 1st generation
Zoroastrian Americans. This camp will take place
over the entire weekend of July 27 through 29. The
first day (Friday) will be for people to simply get to know one another, have pizza, and participate in ice-
breaker/teamwork games, like fort building, telephone,
etc. On Saturday, Porus Balsara and Charlotte Kharas
will hold religious discussions, followed by more per-sonal group discussions to answer questions the kids
may have. That night participants will watch a movie
and melt s'mores. Sunday will involve closing remarks, breakfast for the parents/kids and packing up. The
Camp will end with a brunch that morning. Throughout
the event, there will be food and there will be games, but mostly Zoroastrian youth are going to hang out and
meet other Zoroastrian youth. It will be for only one
weekend but will be an experience worth having. The
cost to attend is $30 per person and open to kids 13 or older. The entire camp will be conducted at the ZANT
center. The deadline to register for this event is July

Once again it’s time to sell Falooda at this year’s Anand Bazaar. Anand Bazaar is one of our biggest fundraisers and all proceeds go towards paying for various activities and events for community members. Costs for this event in-clude booth rental and supplies. In the past, this event has been subsidized by our ZANT families' donations. We look forward to your continued support and gen-erosity. Donations in any amount to support this event will be greatly appreciated. We also need vol-unteers to make and serve falooda. It’s fun and the food is always delicious.

PAST EVENTS
CHILDREN & YOUTH SEWING & ART/CRAFT CLASS
We had some belated Mother's Day activity and a few crafts completed just in time for Father's Day. There was a flowery pen to take home for mom, made out of fabric flowers and green sticky tape. For Dads, the first project was a rocky frame, since, you know, Dads ROCK! The second was a mushroom made with play dough and a special message for the dads, they being such awesome fun-gis! Crafts were completed in a jiffy with time left to play outside while the projects dried.
