• Mining: Zambia possesses Africa’s largest known copper and emerald reserves

• Agriculture: only 1.5 m ha of the 42m ha arable land is under cultivation; accounts for about 40% of the fresh water resources in Southern Africa

• Energy: Potential to produce 6,000MW of hydro energy, currently only producing 1, 980MW

• Manufacturing: Multi Facility Economic Zones established to support investment

• Tourism: 20 national parks, 34 game management areas, home to Victoria falls

• Infrastructure: Massive projects being undertaken, roads, rail, electricity generation and airports

• Rapidly growing urban middle class
