    Immanuel and St. Andrew CE Primary SchoolRecep t i on Cla s s 2 Ter m 6Cur r i c u l um Bul l e t i n Welcome back to the last term of the year! I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone, but we have lots of fun things planned to make the

    most of our time with the children before they move to Year 1! We will be supporting the children in preparing for Year 1 which will includetime in the key stage 1 playground to familiarise themselves with their new environment. In addition time will be spent in their new class andgetting to know their new teacher. To end a wonderful year we will be hosting a Reception garden party to which you are all invited.     Early Years Founda t ion Stage Focu s f or t h e Term:

    Persona l Soc i a l Em o t i ona l D eve l o pm en t : Our focus this term isencouraging children to explore their identity and appreciate their differences.We will be doing lots of group and cooperative tasks and children will be given

    more opportunities to lead the planning, taking responsibility for their ownlearning.

    C om m u ni ca t i on Langu age and Li t e racy : This term, we arelooking at lots of different forms of writing and exploring their features, such as

    postcards, letters, tickets and stories. We will also continue to focus on thechildrens letter formation and handwriting.

    Prob l em So l v i ng Reason i ng and N u m eracy : We will belearning about money this term. Looking at coin recognition but also using it tohelp support addition and subtraction. We will also focus on time, with children

    ordering their day and using clocks to read time to the half hour and hour.

    Knowl edge and Under s t and i ng o f t h e Wor ld : This topic leadsto lots of exploration of the past and how the seaside was before. We will be using

    laptops and programmable toys to support our learning by making holidaybrochures and using maps to find pirates, hidden treasure and different countries!

    Ph ys i ca l D eve l o pm en t : Our PE module is gymnastics. We will beusing a range of equipment, including the wall apparatus so children have the

    opportunity to build on the skills they have been working on across the year.

    C rea t i v e D eve l o pm en t : There will be a big focus on role play withchildren creating a travel agents. We will be doing lots of creative activities using

    a range of natural media.

    Importan t Note sPlease, please, PLEASE name every item of your

    childs clothing. Sometimes items get misplaced oraccidentally muddled with another childs and it is impossible

    to identify who they belong to if they are not named.

    Please ensure that you arrive at school when the gates openat8.50 in the mornings. It is so important for a prompt
