YouTube is a video-sharing site and app that allows you to watch, upload, share, comment on, and like all kinds of videos over the Internet. The amount of content available on YouTube is amazing. You can search and watch almost anything: films, documentaries, instructional videos, recipes, travel videos, music, sports highlights, news clips, lectures and tutorials, how-tos, and blogs!

Search for Videos

1 Go to www.youtube.com

2 Select the Sign in option in the top, right-hand corner of the screen to sign in with your Gmail address and password.

3 Now,typesearchtermsrelatedtofitness.Youcanthinkofactivitiessuchas“yoga,seniorfitnessclasses,low-impactworkout”orsomethingelseyou’d like to watch. Then, select the magnifying lens at the top.

4 Scroll down the page to see the results. Then, select a video that you want to watch.

5 Ashortcommercialmaycomeup.Select“SkipAd”inthelower,right-hand corner to start the video sooner.

6 Sometimes, pop-up ads can also appear. Close the pop-up ad by clicking onthe“x”.

8 To adjust the volume of the video, select the volume icon in the left-hand corner.

9 Click CC to see the video with captions.

7 To make the video fillyourentirescreen, just click the full-screen icon

in the lower, right-hand corner of the video player.

Onavideopageyoucanfindfurtherinformationaboutthevideoyou’rewatching.

2 Name of the user who 5 Comments left by others. Remember that uploaded the video you will read comments that represent a wide range of views on any given topic. 3 Date of upload 6 Number of people who liked or disliked the video.

Explore a Video Page

1 Now, search for another video. Type your search terms in the search bar, then select the magnifying lens at the top.

2 Scroll down the results, then select the video that interests you.

3 Watch the video, then answer these questions.

● What’s the title of the video? ____________________________________

● Who posted it? ________________________________________________

● When was it posted? ___________________________________________

● How many people watched it? ___________________________________

2 Select the first result that comes up on the page.

3 To subscribe to Senior Planet’s channel, just select the red subscribe button under the image on the page.

4 On the Senior Planet YouTube page, select VIDEOS under the picture to explore the videos uploaded by Senior Planet.

5 Scroll down the results, then select a video you want to watch.

1 In the column on the left, scroll down until you see Live.

2 Click on Live and view the options that come up.

● Did you find anything interesting?

● Were you surprised by any of the content YouTube suggested?

● Remember you can select Set Reminder to tune-in live when as show airs.

● You can also select Watch Later if that’s more convenient for you.
