This includes but is not limited to ensuring representation from all barangays, existing youth organizations, gender and age brackets, and sectoral affiliations. Objectives The primary objective for the Youth Camp is to increase the awareness and organized participation of the Youth sector in Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation, and prevalent environmental issues by providing a venue for the group to discuss and practice simple and relevant DRR knowledge and activities. After the Youth Camp, the participants are expected to be able to: Knowledge 1. Define DRR and its importance to the community’s welfare based on basic concepts of DRR; 2. Identify the linkages of addressing local environmental issues to disaster resiliency; Skills 1. Practice basic disaster risk reduction skills by engaging in small-scale mitigation activities appropriate to the local community risks;

participating based on personal strengths and limitations.

Outputs and Deliverables1. The training design will be produced by the training team based on ASCEND Project’s

consultations with the local youth organization.2. The implementation of the training design’s learning component will be facilitated by the

training team with the assistance of community facilitators and the partner youth organization.

3. The logistical needs of the youth camp, including the venue, accommodations, training materials, LCD projector setups, sound systems, and transportation will be secured by the secretariat.

(ASCEND Project)4. The field-learning component of the training design will be facilitated by the ASCEND Staff

with the assistance of the training team and local people’s organization partners.5. Project deliverables including a youth audit and a DRR campaign planning will be ensured by

the ASCEND Staff with the assistance of the secretariat.

The house rules, expectations, sleeping accommodations and tribe assignments will be announced. Next, they will be given the youth camp objectives and training flow. Participants will be given a crash course on basic DRR and introduction to Climate Change concepts. Each tribe will separate into their own breakout session with a teaching team. 11:00 – 12:00 Team-building Training Team/ASCEND StaffParticipants will engage in a series of team-building activities to build their respective tribes’ dynamics. Each tribe will engage in a name-familiarization game. - Pinoy Henyo- Tag of War- Kadang- kadang- Pinoy Basketball

Creative Presentation: Participants will be asked to gather scrap materials from the Recovery Facility Site which they will use as props for their Creative Presentation. Presentations should be relevant to the camp’s objectives i.e. to raise Youth’s awareness on environmental issues, DRR and CCA and to recognize their roles upon addressing them.

Games: Participants are to delegate members of their tribes to represent in simultaneous game of Pinoy Henyo, Tag of War, Kadang-kadang and Pinoy Basketball. This activity aims to reconnect the Youth to our traditional games and expose them to recreational activities that use indigenous materials.

SkillsThe second half of the hands-on activities is composed of concurrent knowledge and skills-building sessions for disaster preparedness. Participants will choose whether to attend a disaster preparedness and climate change seminar.

10:00 – 12:00 Amazing RaceTribes are to compete among themselves to solve a puzzle that contains DRR/CCA key messages. Challenges for every puzzle piece will be based on the activities conducted during the camp.
