The ad cost $50 and will run multiple times for one month. Clover Kids Workshop Report — Haylee reported that she, Cole and Jill helped with snacks and activities. Junior Fair Board Members Report - Riley and Brooklyn said the fair board had listened to a representative from Lyons Club wanting to use the grounds for a ’Warrior Run’ obstacle course. Stacy Hull from the Green-field Chamber/Main Street Office talked about activities for 4th of July celebration in Greenfield. Speak Out For Agriculture (SOFA) Report - Skyler said the trip is being planned but specific details are not yet finalized. They are discussing a trip to Farm Bureau, an orchard, and traveling to Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Ag Career Exploration Trip is scheduled for June 13-14, 2016.

OLD BUSINESS: Deena reported on the Middle School Dance. It was a successful event. 120 youth, 19

Youth Council Members and 10 Chaperones attended. Attendance was down slightly—possibly due to the sub-state basketball game in Atlantic that same night. Youth Council raised $360 for the Kelly Laughery Memorial 4-H Community Service Scholarship Fund. Deena had asked council members at the organiza-tional meeting before the dance if they would like to match funds from the dance. There was an overwhelm-ing agreement to do that but we will wait until April’s meeting to make a formal motion and determine what the donation amount will be. Deena said the leftover cookies/bars and snack mix were put in the freezer and will be used for future YC meeting snacks. Be sure the check out ’Adair County ISU Extension’ Facebook page for over 100 photos of the dance—youth council members were pictured in most of them. Deena

asked members how they felt things went with the event. All members said they thought it went very well and they enjoyed themselves. Deena wrote a DECAT grant to pay for WCC rental fees ($315) and DJ fees ($150). Part of the Tobacco Grant helped pay for snack mix ingredients. Thank you notes to the chaperones will be sent out next week. Please be sure to thank chaperones: Karen Downing, Janelle Kralik, Billi Shelley, Connie Wallace, Jeannette Jorgensen, Tom & Amy Doud, and Doug & Julie Wallace. Our wonderful parents and volunteers help to make our events a success.

Haylee reminded members that there will be an ‘Interview Workshop’ on March 20th for all state award applicants and their parents. There will be a great guest speaker, light meal and mock interview sessions for all participants. You must rsvp to Deena by Thursday, 3/17. Adair, Cass, Union and Clarke county 4-H’ers are invited to attend.

Deena confirmed YC helpers for the Boys & Girls Club Fundraiser event on March 18th. The event is called ‘Trinkets & Treasures’. Haylee, Hailey, Shelby, Hannah, Heath, Madison, Cade and Hank are signed up to help with serving food, cleaning the kitchen and clearing tables after the meal. YC are to wear their new YC t-shirts and arrive promptly at 5:45pm to the Adair Community Center in Adair. We will be done and can leave once the leftovers are stored in the refrigerator and kitchen is cleaned up—no later than 7:30pm. This organization does a lot of good things for kids so it’s really nice to help them out.

NEW BUSINESS: The next YC Meeting will be April 3rd. Members decided to have the meeting at the Stu-

art Bowling Alley at 1:30pm (no Officer’s Meeting in advance). We will hold the meeting first and then do some bowling after. Deena will contact the owner and set up the event.

Deena brought copies of the Adair County ISU Extension Newsletter. Anyone wanting a copy was encour-aged to take one. She explained how it was loaded with updates, activities, information and more regarding the Adair County 4-H Program.

Members were reminded to use the Adair County Extension Facebook page to stay on top of current events and information.

A ‘thank you’ from the Adair County Clover Kids was provided to YC members. The Clover Kids thanked YC for helping out with their monthly workshops.

It was decided to move the ‘Anti-bullying Video’ production to the May 1st meeting. The weather should be nice outside to shoot clips. As soon as the YC meeting is done that day, we will create the signs to hold up and shoot the video clips.

The meeting was over at 2:15pm. YC enjoyed bars, cookies and snack mix.
