Traditional Chinese medicine available in RomseyResidents of Romsey have the opportunity to explore traditional Chinese medicines to combat ailments, thanks to a new shop that specialises in natural remedies.

Dr Yanbing Li, a consultant physician doctor, works with herbal medicines, candles, reflexology and traditional Chinese methods to re-balance chemicals in the body. Her treatments take a holistic approach to health in the form of therapeutic techniques such as acupuncture and massage, and her high levels of allergy testing mean that customers can trial remedies in advance to make sure they achieve the right results.

Romsey Abbey ward member, Councillor Ian Richards, presented Dr Yanbing with the first instalment of Test Valley Borough Council’s £1,000 Independent Retailer Grant at her clinic at 35 Church Street. He said: “Dr Yanbing has a great deal of experience in using traditional Chinese medicines and has spent a lot of time building up a client base through her previous sessions at Wellow Village Hall. It’s great to see that the business is thriving; I am sure it will continue to do so now that it has set up home in a town centre unit.”

Dr Yanbing added: “It’s been a busy few months but I’m really pleased that I’ve been able to expand the business. I love working with people and helping them find solutions to their health concerns. I’d like to thank Test Valley Borough Council for the grant and for supporting me on this journey.”

Recipients of the £1,000 grant receive £500 after three months of trading and a further £500 six months later. To be eligible for the grant, new or existing independent businesses must occupy a town centre ground floor unit which has been vacant for at least one month. Qualifying businesses include shops, restaurants and cafes.

New members wantedTest Valley Croquet Club are looking for new members to join their small, friendly

croquet club. They meet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at Hunts Farm Sports Ground, Timsbury. No experience is necessary; equipment and

tuition are provided and the first 2 attendances are free of charge!

Launch of the Test Valley Business Awards 2018The official launch of the 14th Test Valley Business Awards is coming…

Following the success of the Test Valley Business Awards 2017, celebrating the 6 local winners from an impressive near-180 entries, we are preparing to launch TVBA 2018 on Friday 16th March.

Our venue is the award-winning Greyhound on the Test in Stockbridge at the heart of Test Valley.

The official launch marks the starting date for entries and this year we will have at least 5 award categories to choose from.

This special event will see business representatives from across the area come together celebrate doing business in Test Valley; to learn more about the Awards’ entry process; to network and not least to enjoy some lovely food from The Greyhound.

Attending the launch is free but places are limited and so must be booked in advance by visiting https://tvba2018launch.eventbrite.co.uk or www.tvbawards.org.uk

Now in its 14th year, the Test Valley Business Awards – run by a steering group of volunteers – has become a well-established platform to promote businesses excellence and especially to shine a light on the many new and small innovative businesses operating out of sight. It is a great way to enable smaller enterprises to gain the recognition and exposure to grow.

Gin is flavour of the month for business start upAn Andover entrepreneur has opened a new online business that leaves gin lovers spoilt for choice.

After a 22 year career in the RAF, Alison Targett took the plunge to launch online drinks business, The Gin Stall. Her new venture offers customers a range of delicious gins from mixed spice and ginger through to flavours including raspberry, rhubarb and plum.

Harroway ward member, Councillor Carl Borg-Neal, presented Alison with Test Valley Borough Council’s £750 Business Incentive Grant. He said: “Alison has done a fantastic job in sourcing gins from local distilleries as well as throughout the UK. I wish her all the best with her new business.”

Alison added: “I’m really enjoying exploring the different flavours of gin from all over the UK and Europe. There are so many varieties available so it’s great to make these more accessible for my customers. We’ve had a busy Christmas, the support

has been fantastic and am looking forward to what’s to come in 2018.”

The Council’s Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Anyone who successfully applies for the grant will receive a grant of £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.

Community NewsCardea is here to helpFollowing a bereavement, Joan experienced a succession of health problems culminating in a mini stroke that left her tired and muddled. Dealing with her post became a problem, with letters being left unopened for weeks and her tablets were changed which led to her getting into a muddle with her medication. The food in her fridge was not being used and her daughter was worried that she was not eating well. She started to loose weight and lost her appetite. Her daughter lives 30 miles away and could not visit more than once a week due to work and family commitments. Things that previously were a matter of routine became a problem and Joan realised that if she wanted to remain living independently at home she needed some regular support to help her with the things she was struggling with.

Does this sound familiar? Is this you, or do you know someone in a similar situation and are struggling to help a family member or friend who needs a little bit of support?

Cardea Support Service is the solution to any problem where an individual needs some help to carry on with independent living. We can provide a wide range of support services to someone in the short term (such as on return from hospital) or on an ongoing basis if this is what is needed. This support ranges from help with shopping and planning and preparing meals to help with pets, assistance with post, appointments and social contact and companionship. We also help with more extreme problems where someone may need some help with issues around hoarding or issues with debt that may be putting their housing or other area of their life at risk.

The staff at Cardea have a wealth of experience of working with people in the community and are helpful and willing to support anyone who may need their help. For information on the full range of services delivered by Cardea please call the team on 01264 523490 or visit www.cardea.ltd. We are more than happy to discuss your situation and will visit you at home to discuss your support needs and how we can help.

Music is key to helping people with dementia at Abbotswood Court

The Commission on Dementia and Music reports on the benefits of music for those living with the disease. Abbotswood Court Care Home in Romsey explains how they use music to improve the quality of life for their residents.

A recent report from the Commission on Dementia and Music found substantial evidence of the benefits of music for people living with dementia. It helps minimise some of the symptoms such as agitation and depression and increases social interaction. Yet, only 5% of Care Homes are using music effectively. Abbotswood Court Care Home in Romsey is one of them.Gemma Ridout-Bowden, General Manager of Abbotswood, said: “Music is an important part of life here at Abbotswood Court. We’ve been aware for a long time of the benefits of music for our residents. Music is able to reach people in a unique way, forming an emotional connection that has a profound effect on the individual and their loved ones. We really welcome this report and its call for a national strategy to increase access to music for all those living with dementia.”One of the activities that takes place regularly at Abbotswood Court is ‘Unlocking Musical Memories’ – a pioneering programme run by Andrew Knights, former principal Oboist with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. ‘Music Unlocking Memories’ aims to stimulate memory and elicit a response through a variety of music: songs from the 1940s–1960s, and solos played on oboe, cor anglais and saxophone. The emphasis is on fun and participation. Using a vast range of percussive instruments and song sheets, Andrew soon has everyone joining in!Andrew started working in residential and nursing homes in 2001 at the invitation of Hampshire County Council. He now does about 250 sessions a year, many through the Alzheimers Society. Andrew has been a regular guest principal with many London Orchestras, the Hilliard Ensemble and many chamber

ensembles and also teaches at Southampton University. However, he is most passionate about his musical collaborations with people with dementia.Andrew explains: “Music Unlocking Memories’ has taught me to rethink my whole approach to music – it’s one of the most exciting, inspiring and satisfying things I’ve ever done. It’s a real privilege to work at somewhere like Abbotswood Court – such a lovely environment – and the residents and carers are remarkable. I always look forward to my visits!”Sarah Watson Dementia Manager at Abbotswood Court added: “It’s so good to see this focus on the benefits of music for those with dementia. We organise many musical activities for our residents – social events, concerts, our weekly fitness class Oomph Activity to Music and of course Andrew’s sessions. It’s extraordinary how some of our residents can remember all the words to a song or recall people and events they associate with a piece of music.” Abbotswood Court is a new modern care home set in beautiful landscaped gardens in Romsey. It provides accommodation and individual care for older people with a range of needs including dementia. For more information about the care, accommodation and services Abbotswood Court provides, visit www.cinnamoncc.com/luxury-care-homes/abbotswood-court/care-and-facilities or follow them on [email protected] learn more about Andrew and ‘Unlocking Musical Memories’, go to: www.andrewknights.org

The Hampshire Genealogical Society (HGS) Romsey Group

The Hampshire Genealogical Society, a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, has been promoting and encouraging the study of family history research since its formation in 1974.

Members of HGS receive a Quarterly Journal and may use the HGS Research Centre in Cosham, where there is access to Hampshire Family History Indexes and you can get help or advice if needed. You are also entitled to attend any of the thirteen Local Group Meetings within the County.

The friendly Romsey Group meets at 7.30pm on the first Monday of the month (or the Tuesday following a Monday Bank Holiday) except in January or August, in Crosfield Hall Annexe, Romsey. We have speakers at most of the meetings but sometimes we hold Members’ Evenings when we share and discuss our research, plan a workshop around requests for particular topics or try to solve one another’s problems.

Do not, for one moment, think you must have Hampshire ancestry to benefit from membership of HGS. Joining and coming along to a local group such as ours provides an opportunity to meet other people who have the same enthusiasm for family history, to share skills and expertise and extend your own knowledge. It’s also an opportunity to help others break down ‘brick walls’ in their research and have some help with your own.

If you fancy giving it a try, then please come along to one of our meetings. We are always pleased to welcome visitors and new members. You can find details of our forthcoming programme at https://www.hgs-familyhistory.com/groups/romsey/

Tricks and Traps of the Residential Nil Rate BandWe have previously discussed the Residential Nil Rate Band (RNRB) allowance available to those with a taxable estate who are leaving a property directly to children and/or grandchildren. We now revisit this new inheritance tax relief with some further guidance.

Just like the Nil Rate Band of £325,000, the RNRB can be transferred between spouses. It is common for couples to leave their property to each other, before passing it on to their children. One of the hallmarks of the RNRB is that the property must be closely inherited by a beneficiary. This means that the recipient of the property under the will must be ‘closely inherited’ such as a child/grandchild (whether biological, adopted, foster, step or a spouse of one these categories) of the deceased. For ease, we will simply refer to children in this article. By passing a property to a spouse in the first instance, before passing the property onto children, the RNRB can be doubled for increased tax efficiency.

It is common for blended families (couples with children from previous relationships and potentially together) to look to take advantage of this relief. Where the intention is to leave the matrimonial home to the surviving partner, the couple may wish to ensure that the property is split between their respective children once they have both died. To make an absolute gift of the property will run the risk of losing it to care fees or to the surviving partners’ family should they remarry or alter their will. The legal solution is to leave the property in a life interest or interest in possession trust. You will then dictate the ownership of the property until it is distributed to the children following the death of the couple. A trap to look out for is where the couple are unmarried and have children from previous relationships. The children of an unmarried partner do not qualify for the RNRB under the meaning of ‘closely inherited’ for the purposes of the relief. An alternative is to leave the property direct to

the children. This comes with its own concerns such as capital gains tax for the beneficiaries and uncertainty for the living situation of the surviving partner.

An alternative is to consider a discretionary trust leaving it to the trustees to decide how to deal with the estate. The RNRB cannot normally be used with this type of trust, however, provided the property is appointed out of the trust to a spouse within two years of the death, it is possible to save the relief.

When looking to maximise the relief, you should pay careful attention to the net value of the property you would wish to claim the relief against. Any loan against the property reduces the actual value of the RNRB that can be claimed. If funds need to be raised to pay for care home fees, it might be worthwhile selling the property and instead claiming the RNRB downsizing relief.

This is intended for general guidance only. In all cases specific advice should be sought.

When your son gets hit by a car

In October 2016 a father took to social media to share the harrowing account of his son being run over, and to thank the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and assembled trauma medical teams who were waiting at Southampton General Hospital. The chilling tale of how his son ran into the path of an oncoming car without looking properly was the stuff of every parent’s nightmares. Fortunately this story had a happy ending, but many do not.

The Blog, which can be read in full on the following link went near-viral, attracting comments from around

the world. Many echoed the praise for the emergency services and NHS teams, others gave spiritual thanks and referenced guardian angels. (https://onemanandhiscatheters.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/when-your-son-gets-hit-by-car.html)

Based on the outcome, the unsung hero of this situation was probably the driver, and it’s important this potential learning isn’t lost. Without commenting on the specifics of this case, but rather drawing on general data, the outcome of pedestran collisions is largely influenced by speed. As the little girl in the 1980’s Think! campaign national TV ad explained: ‘If you hit me at 40mph there’s around an 80% chance I’ll die; hit me at 30mph and there’s an 80% chance I’ll live’. It is for this reason many residential and city centre pedestrian areas have seen their speed limits dropped from 30 to 20mph.

Impact energy has a squared relationship with speed, meaning that just a small reduction in speed has a significant reduction in the amount of distructive energy transferred in a collision. Advanced/Defensive driving courses often teach covering or pre-loading the brake pedal when going into high risk areas so time isn’t lost

moving the foot to the brake pedal.

Drivers who are distracted by another in-car activity such as conducting a phone conversation (hands-free or otherwise) or drinking a drive-thru coffee at the wheel have been shown to react far more slowly to unexpected events like this scenario. Consequently, they brake later and carry more speed into the inevitable collision: IMPACT ENERGY = SPEED2. The Air Ambulance & NHS Trauma medical teams do work miracles as so many comments on the blog acknowledged, but we all have the potential to be ‘guardian angels’ simply by thinking about our driving and the distracting habits we attempt to multi-task around it. Romsey Football ClubRain rain rain. The start of 2018 has been a washout with only one game played by our First Team in the whole of January. That game was though a great result for us as we convincingly beat our local rivals Totton & Eling by 7 goals and kept a clean sheet. It felt as though our players could do no wrong that day as they gave a strong and clinical performance in front of a very good crowd comprising mostly of Romsey supporters. It would have been fantastic to have the opportunity to build on that success but game after game each week had to be postponed on the day as the rain played havoc with pitches all over the county.

So what does a Football Club do when they can’t play their fixtures? Well, it has been a perfect opportunity for us to turn our attentions onto the Clubhouse again. We would like to thank our key sponsors Chatsworth Conservatories, Windows and Doors who have kindly put wooden cladding onto the front of the Clubhouse making it look so much better now from the road. In addition Chatsworth have

installed some new external uPVC double doors into the kitchen area which has also served to smarten us up – hopefully our supporters will agree. The next project is already underway as we are in the process of demolishing the old and decrepit portacabin by the side of the pitch ready to replace it with a new one together with a storage container, which will enable us to free up some more space in the Clubhouse itself where we host parties and events, and so the extra space will be very welcome.

So now we look ahead to the latter part of the season. We have 14 league games left to play, having played 20 and currently we are very much pushing for one of the three promotion spots. We will continue to take each game as it comes and hope that we will continue to see the great support we have seen in the first half of the season from the local Romsey community.

Clare Crossland, Secretary, Romsey Town Football Club

Sports FeatureRomsey Rugby ClubSouthampton 17 v 7 RomseyBoth teams deserve credit for what was an utterly enthralling and expansive game, slugged out in freezing conditions in a swamp behind Southampton rugby club.

A much changed Romsey side took to the field and accounted for themselves well defensively against the relentless Saints attack throughout the first 20 minutes before Sam Sleape got on the end of a well-executed up and over kick and sprinted down the touch line to score in the corner for the visitors.

The referee was excellent and allowed the physicality of the game to prevail but with no foul play, as both sides began to pay the price for the game’s velocity and tempo. Despite turning the half ahead, Romsey lost Marcus Green (broken leg), Iain Thomas (torn ankle muscle) and PJ Boden, all of which stretched Romsey’s resource to breaking point.

When Gus Layton had to leave the field, Romsey were forced to finish the last 15 minutes of the game with 14 men, a hooker on the flank and wing Sam Sleape had a nasty break of the hand. A brave Romsey defence stuck to the task before succumbing to two late Southampton tries.

“Season debutants Jordan Hillier Snell and Jim Windibank did us proud today,” says scrum half Andy Herriot, “Southampton were good for the win on the day but given the last minute changes we had to make to the team, the boys can hold their heads up high.”

This month’s walk returns to the North of the Test Valley and picks up part of the

River Anton, a section of which was last covered in the walk of June 2015.

Apart from the start and finish of this walk, the majority is fairly flat and at 5 miles is reasonable to complete in 90 to 100 minutes.

The recommended start is from the car park at the bottom of Winchester Road, as it meets Romsey Road, just before Goodworth Clatford, on the approach to Andover (no postcode allocated for this location). The outer fairways of the Hampshire Golf Club are just across the road from the start.

Starting from the chosen car park, we must cross the busy road to the footpath opposite, which aims us down into the Anton Valley (photo 1). This trail rolls gradually towards a tree line, which after about 600 metres turns left and soon joins the River Anton towpath (photo 2). After a while this opens out into a field and then

passes the recently erected Fullerton Farm Solar installation. This site had planning for up to 1,600 panels, which would be enough to provide clean energy for up to 1,300 homes from the area and form part of a growing network of solar farms around the South.

As we move onwards we next pass beside a water works that stretches back up the hill, just like the solar farm. This path continues through consecutive fields for another

kilometre until passing through a small woodland with a footpath arrow to the right, which is our next turning. This takes us across a narrow bridge over the River Anton (photo 3) then immediately right, following the yellow path signs round the field until a concrete bridge and shortly after, a pair of gates. As we pass through both these gates we cross a farm track that shows ample evidence of the once active railway line, The Spratt and Winkle Line, that was finally closed in the 1960s. Most of the track here is now within the private land of the farm.

Once through gate number two we turn sharp right and keep across to the left hand edge as far as a gate that opens out onto a gravel road. This road swiftly develops into a full blown tarmac version, working its way back North and mirroring the route taken by the railway line inside the tree line on the right. Finally after approximately 600 metres the road halts at a junction with the Longstock Road, close to a hairpin bend. Here we turn right, keeping close to the side as there is no designated footpath all the way back into the village of Goodworth Clatford. On this section we pass a number of thatched cottages and period buildings, plus a local pub, before reaching the Village Hall (photo 4) where we now turn right.

The path leads us across the playing fields as far as the river bank and by keeping left we are now heading up to a gate and by turning right, we can cross the River

Anton once again. Just 100 metres up this lane there is a small parking area, with a large tree in the centre and on the right is our next destination. The path offers us a return along the River Anton Way (photo 4), which we take for another 300 metres as we commence our return trip along the towpath. Looking for the next waymark we need a left turn up through a copse just 40 metres before a full metal gate (that we passed through much earlier). If you reach this gate then turn back and find the path through the copse!!

This path reappears alongside a field as we are now retracing our steps from the outbound walk, up to a corner, turn right and then a switchback climb back up the field for 600 metres to the main Romsey Road, which we cross carefully as we go to retrieve the waiting transport.

Essential items for walking anytime:• High visibility clothing, vest or sash are

ideal. Be seen at all times.

• Robust footwear, walking boots, good sturdy trainers – normal house shoes not recommended.

• A torch (for gloomy days), mobile phone and a whistle (personal protection and safety).

• For dog walkers – take a supply of poop scoop bags.

Postnatal Depression (PND)Postnatal depression is a type of depression that many parents experience after having a baby.

It's a common problem, affecting more than 1 in every 10 women within a year of giving birth. It can also affect fathers and partners, although this is less common.

It's important to seek help as soon as possible if you think you might be depressed, as your symptoms could last months or get worse and have a significant impact on you, your baby and your family.

With the right support, which can include self-help strategies and therapy, most women make a full recovery.

Symptoms of postnatal depression Many women feel a bit down, tearful or anxious in the first week after giving birth. This is often called the "baby blues" and is so common that it’s considered normal. The "baby blues" don’t last for more than two weeks after giving birth.

If your symptoms last longer or start later, you could have postnatal depression. Postnatal depression can start any time in the first year after giving birth.

Signs that you or someone you know might be depressed include:• a persistent feeling of

sadness and low mood• lack of enjoyment and

loss of interest in the wider world

• lack of energy and feeling tired all the time

• trouble sleeping at night and feeling sleepy during the day

• difficulty bonding with your baby

• withdrawing from contact with other people

• problems concentrating and making decisions

• frightening thoughts – for example, about hurting your baby

Many women don't realise they have postnatal depression, because it can develop gradually.

Getting help for postnatal depression Speak to your GP or health visitor if you think you may be depressed. Many health visitors have been trained to recognise postnatal depression and have techniques that can help. If they can't help, they'll know someone in your area who can.

Encourage your partner to seek help if you think they might be having problems.

Don't struggle alone hoping that the problem will go away. Remember that:• a range of help and support is available,

including therapy• depression is an illness like any other • it's not your fault you're depressed – it can

happen to anyone• being depressed doesn't mean you're a bad

parent• it doesn’t mean you’re going mad• your baby won't be taken away from you

– babies are only taken into care in very exceptional circumstances

Treatments for postnatal depression Postnatal depression can be lonely, distressing and frightening, but support and effective treatments are available.

These include:• self-help – things you can try yourself

include:talking to your family and friends about your feelings and what they can do to help; making time for yourself to do things you enjoy; resting whenever you get the chance and getting as much sleep as you can at night; exercising regularly; eating a healthy diet

• psychological therapy – your GP may be able to recommend a self-help course, or may refer you for a course of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

• antidepressants – these may be recommended if your depression is more severe or other treatments haven't helped; your doctor can prescribe a medicine that's safe to take while breastfeeding

Local and national organisations, such as the Association for Post Natal Illness (APNI) and Pre and Postnatal Depression Advice and Support (PANDAS), can also be useful sources of help and advice.

Over Plucked, Uneven or Non-existent Eyebrows!!??

Digital Microblading could be the treatment for you!!Do you have to powder or pencil your

eyebrows in everyday? Whether it be from over plucking, medical conditions, natural hair loss or just that they are a bit off shape, gappy or sparse.

Semi-permanent eyebrows could be the treatment that transforms your face, even making many look years younger!!

What causes postnatal depression? The cause of postnatal depression isn't completely clear. Some of the factors it has been associated with include:• a history of mental health problems,

particularly depression, earlier in life• a history of mental health problems during

pregnancy• having no close family or friends to support

you• a poor relationship with your partner• recent stressful life events, such as a

bereavement experiencing the "baby blues"

Even if you don't have any of these symptoms, having a baby is a life-changing event that can sometimes trigger depression.

It often takes time to adapt to becoming a new parent. Looking after a small baby can be stressful and exhausting.

Wings offers a confidential and supportive counselling service in Romsey with experienced and accredited professionals who can help you to make sense of what you may be struggling with. We offer individual, couple or family counselling for any of the following issues:

• Anxiety• Stress• Obsessive Compulsive Disorders• Low mood and Depression• Relationship Issues

• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder• Bereavement and Loss• Work based Issues• Life Changes and Transitions• Postnatal Depression

There have been so many diet articles written post-Christmas. But is ‘diet’ what

we need to do? This word has such negative connotations.

Before we start to ‘diet’ we need to have established a healthy metabolism which enables us to burn more calories. We do this through a regular eating pattern which triggers the body’s response to the fact that a famine is over. If we restrict our food intake and then eat more at other times our body is continuously in a state of famine or feast. So it grabs the excess calories and stores these when we are eating more in order to use in times of ‘famine’ or what we call a period of dieting. So after a while we find we are eating less and less in order to lose the same amount of weight. We feel more and more hungry and our body stimulates our need for food through triggering cravings. So we go back to eating more and thus we fall into a pattern of yo-yo eating and then dieting.

We need to start by understanding what is underpinning our need to eat more than our body needs. Why do some of us reach for food when we are down? Over the years how has this coping strategy become a habit? Are we setting ourselves up for failure each time we embark on a diet without understanding what drove us to eat more and gain weight in the first place?

What are our emotional triggers and can we start learning to manage our emotions in a different way rather than resorting to over eating? Can we move to a place where we learn to maintain a healthy weight whilst we manage our emotional triggers through understanding and attending to these without the help of food?

If you would like to develop a healthier relationship with food whilst understanding and managing emotional triggers perhaps an appointment to get the new year started in a different way could help.

Submit an enquiry though www.wingcounselling.com or call 01794 329278 to talk over what you may be struggling with and to book an initial appointment with Maryanne Steele - experienced Eating Disorders therapist.

Test Valley Chinese Medicine CentreDR YAN CLINIC

I have suffered with a fluctuating hearing problem

for several years. More recently, following on from

a cold, I was left quite deaf, particularly in one ear,

which I attributed to wax.

I visited Dr Yan and was promptly advised my

ear channels were blocked and acupuncture and

massage were recommended. I have received

several sessions and the result is amazing. My

hearing is returning, tension headaches reducing,

neck movement easier and my energy level is

improving.

A Contemporary RomanceHe was wearing a grey hoodie, and a dab of ‘ Eau de Skate’

He chose a wicked restaurant for our brilliant first date, He ordered two huge hamburgers, with relish and some fries,

And across that plastic table I gazed deep into his eyes When I saw his ‘HATE’ tattoo, I knew I’d found my perfect heaven,

And I got to know him well, from half past ten until eleven. We had to leave quite quickly as his lovely pit bull Clyde,

Was frightening all the customers; and snarling, just outside, He took me for a lovely walk just by the local tip

And there over the council bins, I dropped my bag of chips, We have a brand new baby now, a lovely little boy,

I’ve dressed him in a hoodie and I’m going to name him Troy I know his Dad still loves me but my best mate’s not convinced, She’s told me I should ask him…but I haven’t seen him since.
