Employee Spotlight
Stewart Carr
Stewart Carr assumed the role as the new assistant golf professional in
January. Previously, Stewart worked for Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort in Boerne, Texas as well as The Club at
Colony Creek in Victoria, Texas. Originally from Hereford, Stewart moved to San Angelo in 2003. Upon graduating
from Angelo State University, Stewart stuck around for a time selling real estate
before moving away to join the golf business.
Stewart’s hobbies include playing golf and hanging out with friends and family.
Stewart intends on bringing a positive impact to the professional staff at San
Angelo Country Club. If you see Stewart around the Club, please be sure to thank
him for his service! We would like to say “Congratulations” to
our own Chandra Hall for winning the 2017 Eva Williams Ace
Scholarship!! Chandra won the $2500
scholarship Monday, February 20th at the
NTPGA annual business meeting in Dallas, Texas. The
scholarship will help with expenses for
Chandra to acquire her Level 2 in the PGA
Apprentice Program!
We’re halfway there! With your help we’ve raised
about $6,000 of $12,750
for new River Room chairs. If you would like to donate, please contact the

Don’t forget to sign up for the 2017 Hermosa Verde!
This four person scramble is a fun two day event, March 25-26th. Cost is $125 for Members or $175 for Non-Members. There is an
individual skins game that the MGA graciously donated an extra $500 towards! The format is one low gross score plus 1 low net
score, with a 1 o’clock shotgun start both days. Men will play the white tees, women will play the red tees and seniors 65 and older
will be playing the gold tees. Call the Golf Shop at 325.651.7395 for
more information or to sign up!

For $180 a team, this two lady scramble event includes a full breakfast, shop credit, closest to the

3.0/3.5 ladies league on Wednesday
evenings. Please call the Tennis Shop if you
would like to participate!
We are entering the UTSA league
season and the courts tend to be busier during the Spring tennis
season. Please call the Tennis Shop
to make court reservations!
The SMASH Tournament
As one of our longest running events, we are looking forward to another
great weekend of tennis at the SMASH tournament. Please sign up early, as
this tournament fills up quickly. Also, as many of you know, this is our
primary facility fundraiser. If you are interested in sponsoring our event or
having a banner for your business or family, please contact Will at the
Tennis Shop.
Date: May 5th-7th Deadline: May 1st Format: Round Robin Doubles
Fees: $80 per player Divisions: Women’s 3.0, 3.5, 4.0

Tournament Schedule
Friday Night: Play begins at 5:30 with Margaritas and Snacks provided

*Keg beer, Gatorade, & Sodas will be provided throughout the weekend*
All players should plan on tournament play beginning at 5:30 on Friday the
5th and continuing through early afternoon on the 7th. You should also
expect matches to run into "late night" on Friday and Saturday. Please call
