Brody’s StoryMeet Brody and his mom Michelle

Brody was diagnosed shortly after birth with a profound neurological impairment, developmental delay in all areas and visual impairment… “The Neurology specialists told us Brody would never be able to walk and talk,” says mom Michelle. Haunted by the word never, Michelle and family felt helpless as they faced the road ahead.

“Before we learned about the Movement Centre, it was hard to stay hopeful,” continues Michelle. “But walking through their doors several years ago, we immediately felt a connection and knew this is where Brody and our family belongs.”

Within his first year participating in the Movement Centre’s Conductive Education Program, Brody took his first independent steps. And now… he is running around on his own! Brody continues to work hard to develop more skills in order to be more independent and to live his best life.

Miracles like Brody’s happen every day at the Movement Centre of Manitoba. Since 1998, our Conductive Education Programs have helped countless children and adults with neuromotor disabilities resulting from stroke, head injury, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s. MC is one of only two centres in Canada providing Conductive Education for individuals into adulthood.

We are proud that since day one, MC has been 100% funded by the private sector. We continue to need the support and are grateful to be Winn$tock’s charity partner and invite the corporate community to help us change more lives!
