NCS Team Leader What You Will Do A typical day in the life of…. • Mentor, supervise and deliver a variety of different activities from team building exercises, teaching life skills and supporting the planning and delivery of a Social Action Project • Ensure every young person is enjoying themselves at all times & generate a great campus atmosphere through fun, enjoyment & respect, maintaining high levels of safety throughout • Supervise and support the young persons on a residential basis • Support external delivers who deliver specialist sessions to the young persons Hours • Your daily hours will depend on responsibilities during the day and evening. All staff are fairly rota’d during their contracts • You may be required to work in excess of 40 hours a week therefore you will be asked to ‘opt out’ of the 48 hour Working Time Directive General • Respond to incidents and/or emergences in line with company policy • Adhere to Activate NCS’s brand standards • Dress and act according to Activate NCS’s policy at all times • Carry out any other reasonable tasks required Wages And Benefits • You can earn between £250 - £400 per week + holiday pay, depending on your age, qualifications and experience We can also offer: • Accommodation and food during your work • The opportunity to gain meaningful leadership and mentoring experience • IIRSM approved training and CPD opportunities Who We Are Looking For We are looking for individuals that: • Are out-going and enjoy working with 15-17 year olds • Have great communication skills • Have a positive & hard working attitude towards their work • Are team players that are always willing to help out whenever needed • Hold a valid DBS certificate – Activate can split the cost if you need one processing • Have a right to work in the UK Our leaders will also have the following qualifications and skills: • Experience working with young persons aged 15-17 • Experience working in residential settings • Demonstrate excellent behaviour & group management skills Training We Offer • Attendance to our staff training weekend prior to the summer commencing is required • Online training, including our Cardinus and IIRSM approved Risk Management in Sport and Childcare Settings Award and Risk Management in Residential Settings. National Citizen Service is a once in a lifetime unique opportunity for 15-17 year olds. NCS helps build skills for work and life; the young persons will be introduced to new challenges, working in a team where they’ll create new friendships. Our programme operates during the summer and half term for young persons in Bedford, Leicestershire and Somerset. The programme involves 2 x 5 day residentials (Mon - Fri) and then taking part in a team project! NCS works in 4 phases: Phase 1: A 5-day residential programme taking part in team building and action activities Phase 2: A 5-day residential programme learning life skills Phase 3: A 5-day social action programme in the local community.
