Carl Jung is famously attributed to having formed the idea of archetypes (those subconscious patterns that we inherit and pass on generation after generation). Archetypes are almost a secret language that lead us - through whispers and silent nudges - back to who we really are.

Water into wine. Lead into gold. Negative to positive. The Alchemist loves to transform, and has an insatiable desire to witness or evoke a change in consciousness. The Alchemist loves nothing more than to use their own knowledge or power to make change happen.

The magic that interests The Alchemist most is the sort that happens from just allowing it to manifest itself. Alchemists understand that when they tune into their intuition, and follow their instincts, that’s when the best outcome can be found for all. The Alchemist finds great pleasure in being the catalyst for making inner and outer worlds collide.

Alchemists have the ability to change reality, and usually in an accelerated way. Often, this change comes purely from the ability and willingness to ask for the things that we want and need to manifest themselves.

The Alchemist usually causes a ripple effect from their actions, and tends to radiate an aura of sense of self-assurance. They believe in miracles, and is aware and entranced by synchronicity (which Carl Jung describes as ‘meaningful coincidences’).

“Discovering that I was an Alchemist was a shock to me – as a designer, I fully expected to be a Creator (which happened to be my secondary archetype). Y O U R S T R E N G T H SAs an Alchemist, you hold the power to help those who cannot help themselves. You can literally change someone’s life or business by using your natural gift of intuition alone.

You have the ability to align - whether it’s thoughts, strategy, emotions, self-with-Soul - which is priceless for those who are totally out of sync.

You can help people see things differently, bringing forward what was previously in the subconscious mind to the conscious mind.

You enable others by helping them manifest their vision, and encouraging them to ask for it.

You can affirm to others what they already intuitively know.

You have the power to help someone gain clarity on their inner world, so that they can effect change in their outer world.

You have a heightened awareness of synchronicity (”meaningful coincidences”) and can use this to affirm when things are on the right path.

When things are broken or damaged, you can use your intuition and healing power to purify and release tension.

You have the ability to empower others.

One of your greatest strengths lies in your ability to see mistakes or criticisms as opportunities for learning and growth - and you can teach others how to achieve this mindset for themselves. You are particularly good at replacing negative thought patterns with positive ones. In addition, you are able to take in negative energy, and replace it with positive energy.

You have likely had negative experiences in your past, and your Alchemical tendencies often come from the place of hurt that you managed to heal yourself away from or out of. You can now help others do the same.

Y O U R S H A D O WThe powers of The Alchemist are present indefinitely, and are either used beneficially or malignantly. At the opposite end to magic, healing and miracle-making is manipulation and sorcery; the ability to either harm or heal.

The temptation to manipulate can be overpowering - especially if there is something precious at stake (such as your pride or feelings). If you notice yourself influencing a person or situation with dishonesty, come back to your conscious self and rethink your options.

At the same time as being able to inspire and delight, you also have the ability to push a person or opportunity in the opposite direction.

Be mindful to check in with your intentions, and if they are negative, use your power to transform them back to a place of compassion.

When a situation doesn’t turn out as you saw it in your vision, you may beat yourself up - and feel powerless that your abilities have diminished. Use your skill of transforming the mind, and reframe your thoughts to show a little more kindness to yourself.

Alchemists tend to be self-critical, which possibly can lead to perfectionism and procrastination. Keep your internal dialogue in check.

Sometimes, the information your intuition is screaming at you can seem mad or insane - or the least obvious choice or opinion for a given situation.

Feeling this push-and-pull between ‘common sense’ and your inner voice can be confusing and overwhelming, and ultimately could lead you to stifle the best solution to the problem, in favour of keeping quiet. Be mindful to give your intuition the opportunity to speak its mind, or it will gnaw away at you until you feel angry at yourself for not speaking your mind.

Trust your instincts at all times. They are your North Star.

Y O U R A L C H E M I S T B U S I N E S SCreate magical moments: When you step into your Alchemist power, you can create magical moments for your customers and audience. This may come in the form of offering up your intuition to help them see something in a different way, or provide products or services that are awe-inspiring.

Use of rituals: For centuries, Alchemists have used rituals as a way to effect transformation and healing. Infuse your brand with modern-day rituals to create a feeling of unity and connection.

Curiosity: One of the wonderful things about Alchemists is their ability to fascinate others, so use this to your full advantage.

Curiosity, by its own nature, makes us want to find out more, so keep your customers and audience on their toes by revealing just the right amount, and don’t be afraid to be seen as challenging the status quo - trust your instincts, as they will show you the way.

Show them the way: You are in your element when you are connecting the inner world to the outer - help your audience discover their inner world, so that they themselves can change their outer world.

Whereas a Ruler brand will take control, your strength lies in giving power to the people. Use it wisely.

Be subtle or be obvious: Channeling your Alchemist archetype through your brand can be either subtle or totally in-your-face. Both can work equally as well. You don’t have to include pictures of magic wands in your Facebook ads, but do consider using imagery and vocabulary that conjures up the spirit of the Alchemist.

Follow your intuition: It should go without saying that the key to a successful Alchemist brand is to follow your own intuition. Do not be afraid to try something that is deemed unusual or ‘rule-breaking’. Follow your intuition, and you’ll inspire and encourage others to do the same.

Understand that the people most receptive to your brand are

are those that have a dream, and are looking to you to help them live their vision through your power to transform.

People looking for an experience with an Alchemist brand are deeply desiring change in their life - whether it’s weight loss, a healthier lifestyle, a mindset shift or just to feel better about themselves somehow.

They are likely to be lacking confidence in one or more areas of their life, and yearn for more skill and power to live out their lives to the fullest.

Your audience are looking to you to create and hold a vision

for them, and then help them change from the inside out to achieve that vision.

One important note to mention here: people looking for an Alchemist brand may be looking for a long-lasting, deep-rooted change, or they may be looking for something quicker and more superficial, such as a beauty product or food or drink. They are also drawn to anything that has its’ origins in ancient times.

Members of the Alchemist audience are likely to be deep thinkers, spiritual and open-minded. They have a keen sense to learn, and love to be intrigued by the unusual and mystical.

E V O K E Y O U R A L C H E M I S TYou may be fully aware of your Alchemist power (in which case none of the information in this guide came as a surprise to you!), or maybe it’s just dawning on you how much sense all of this does make (connecting the dots and reaching enlightenment is always so sweet).

Whichever is true for you, try to draw on your skills as an Alchemist whilst developing your brand and business.

Get lucid: Practice tuning in to your intuition, then lasering in to its simple messages. To do this, try meditation. Meditation can be whatever works best for you - for me, as an Alchemist, I

find the best time to meditate is just when I am about to fall asleep at night. I ensure I have a notebook and pen on my bedside table, close my eyes and just let my mind wander in whichever direction it wants.

The state between being awake and being asleep (’hypnogogia’) is a prime time for lucid dreaming, which is where your mind is wandering in a dream-like state, but you are very much conscious of the fact you are dreaming. Let it happen, but start to practice documenting what you see, even if it makes little sense to you at the time. Write any thoughts or visions down in your notebook, and revisit them the following day.

This is often where your instincts are communicating most strongly and clearly with you, and as an Alchemist your instincts are usually the key to your power.

Once you have identified the key messages from your instincts, begin to implement them. Transformation can only come from action - or the decision not to take action (which, in itself, is an action).

Turn this act of lucid dreaming into part of your routine - a daily ritual. Keep this time sacred, and don’t neglect anything that comes up for you.

“Before I discovered that I was an Alchemist, I was one of those solopreneurs that was spinning in circles, drowning in unfinished biz programs, desperately trying to find my “brand”, and feeling so unaligned.

I was seeking guidance from outside of myself, assuming that these experts knew what was best for me, what I needed to do to be successful. I felt broken, being a natural butterfly, flittering from and embracing one interest to the next. Some called it ADHD, others said I was flighty. My parents told me to stick with my “real job” and get my head out of the clouds. It gave me chest pains to think I had to narrow down everything to a “niche”. I was making money as a traditional clinical therapist at the time, but was finding zero income from the coaching side of my business.

The first ah-ha moment for me was recognizing that I am an Alchemist. It wasn’t surprising to me after reading the description, but what it did was take a huge weight off me and totally shift all the things I thought “wrong” with me and made them ever so RIGHT. I learned that my love for transformation, magic, my belief in the healing forces of the Universe, and my plethora of interests represent ME, my brand. All of these elements, these tools I carry, are what make me unique, different, and successful. I don’t need to just pick one. This insight had to come from within, and I had to reconnect with my soul, my spirit to listen to what resonated with me. Once I did this, it changed EVERYTHING. I discovered I am my purpose.

Since embracing my inner Alchemist, I revamped my entire website and copy. I ditched the idea that I needed a professional copywriter, and wrote the words that came from my heart. I stopped worrying about creating a label for myself. So I may be a holistic life coach, or a confidence coach, or an intuitive coach, or even a transformational coach…. it doesn’t matter. I have released the idea that I need to conform to a little box defined by others. I have learned to embrace and work off my intuition, as this is the key to my connection with my clients. I have also been more aware of my shadow self, moving quicker out of moments of self-criticism, perfectionism, and procrastination. I focus on doing what calls to me. This has helped me not only in my professional life, but in personal life as well” ~ Lore Earley
