With an interna-tional export office established in Hong Kong, other offices followed in the important markets of India, Turkey, Iran, and Italy, through which European technology is now feeding into the Group’s engineering design processes for next gen global products.

Exceptional R&D FacilitiesThe Group's R&D teams utilize best in class design software (Pro Engineer, Mentor Flotherm, AnSoft, Windchill PLM) for new product design and development. Significant integrity testing of assemblies and beta products are carried out inhouse to validate the design targets in environmen-tal, mechanical, thermal and motor drive performances.
New applications inevitably bring new challenges and, determined to meet these, the Group invests 10% of its sales revenues in R&D, employing around 800 engineers of whom more than 80% are qualified to first degree or above. The Group's R&D effort encompasses three areas: core technologies, product development and industrial applications. The core technologies developed by R&D over the last few years, which are the intellectual property of the Group, contribute to technically superior performance and reliability. All are subject to a rigorous engineering process that incorporates design modeling, performance analysis, integrity testing and quality assurance techniques.
CertificationsWith markets ever more strongly regulated, certifications are vital to an international future. All of the Group's latest products are designed to comply with CE standards and UL when specified. The R&D compliance department works with internationally recognized testing bodies such as the German TÜV companies, UL listed test labs, TÜV Rheinland for Functional Safety and Liftinstituut for Elevator Safety.

Supply Chain ManagementWe manage closely the quality, delivery and cost of the materials we source. This enables us to manufacture flexibly and reliably, deliver-ing on time to meet the customer’s demand.
Manufacturing Quality ControlWe use a range of inspection techniques to assure the quality of our manufacturing processes: solder paste inspection, automated optical inspection, furnace temperature inspection, in-circuit testing, PCB conformal coating and functional testing of the finished assembly. We use statistical process control (SPC) to monitor the consistency of our processes, taking regular measurements for deviation control to give a high level of consistency and yield.
