XANT is your mid-size wind partner, at home and abroad. XANT designs, builds and installs mid-size wind turbines for your behind-the-meter or off-grid power generation. Designed to last and to give you the least amount of worries, both during installation and operation, XANT turbines get their robustness from their simplicity. The JEEP-principle (Just Enough Essential Parts) and the unique blade design make for unprecedented performance while keeping things easy. XANT turbines are ideally suited for wind power on remote locations and close to the consumer.

The XANT product portfolio consists of the XANT M (100kW) and the XANT L (330kW) platforms. Both turbine types exist in class Ia (average wind speeds up to 10m/s) and class IIIa (7.5m/s) executions; for extremely cold and hot areas ETR (Extended Temperature Range) versions are available.

03MINIMALENVIRON-MENTALIMPACT

XANT wind turbines blend into the landscape: the stealth aesthetics, customized color scheme and lower hub-height minimize visual impact. Being of the same scale as industrial structures such as water tow-ers, mobile-telecom masts and chimneys, the XANT wind turbines easily blend into the landscape.

XANT turbines produce less noise than larger turbines. The silent operation facilitates installation closer to homes and offices. A “whisper mode” opera-tion further reduces the noise to back-ground noise levels during the quiet night time.

Bringing you peace of mind and guaranteed profitability when investing in mid-size wind is XANT’s mission and that is why XANT has a tradition of letting knowledgeable third parties scrutinize our designs. The approval by TÜV-SÜD of the XANT M design is another vote of confidence for the XANT technology from a leading institute in turbine technology eval-uation.

The XANT wind turbines are designed accord-ing to the International Electro-technical Com-mittee (IEC) 61400-1 standard. This is the same standard utility-grade wind turbine designs must adhere to. XANT wind turbines are designed to withstand 70m/s wind speeds and high turbu-lence levels (IEC class Ia designs). In addition, the standard prescribes two independent brak-ing systems to have 100% redundancy in con-trolling the rotorspeed under all circumstances.

The XANT M and L are equipped with a SIL-2 level (IEC 61508) compliant safety system. This means the Safety System is extremely reli-able and will safeguard your investment.

04CERTIFICATION & SAFETY FIRST

The XANT turbines can be erected without a crane and can be lowered easily for maintenance or in case of a hurricane. Tilting down the turbine takes only one hour.

XANT turbines are designed with micro-grid applications in mind. They have the capability of active power curtailment and can be equipped with integrated energy storage to allow for maximizing wind power in your system and the on-site consumption.

The full-power converter enables pro-viding ancillary services to the (micro-) grid and contribute to grid stabilization.

Both voltage amplitude and frequency control can benefit from the advanced control features of the XANT turbine power-electronics. Combined with integrated storage, the XANT turbines can operate in stand-alone mode or act as a virtual synchronous generator on your micro-grid.

XANT will bring wind power where it was not possible be-fore. The containerized transport and crane-less erection further minimize your logistics and in-stallation cost. No special trans-ports nor expensive cranes are required: erection is done using a tilt-up tower and a winch. For sites where concrete is hard to get by, XANT can provide a pre-engi-neered concrete-less foundation.

XANT turbines are op-erating across the globe in the most adverse weather condi-tions: from the strong, wet gales in northern Scotland, the humid trade winds in the Pacific, the icy

winds in Alaska and the hot thun-derstorms in Singapore. XANT turbines are meant to cope with the most extreme climates in the most remote locations. The tilt-up tower makes the XANT turbines 100% hurricane-proof.

In combination with bat-teries, XANT turbines can pow-er isolated loads such as irriga-tion, desalination or ice-making systems. XANT turbines can easily be combined with existing genset infrastructure or solar energy into a “utility-in-a-box” solution providing clean and re-liable off-grid power.
