Stephen can help you with your general well-being, your mental and sexual health, your safety and your happiness. If you need to have a chat, have a vent, grab some condoms, sort out a fi nancial issue, relationship issue, accommodation issue; he’ll be on hand to offer a listening ear in a welcoming environment.
It’s Seán’s job to provide you with top quality entertainment throughout the year. He is responsible for running all the major social events on the Trinity calendar, as well as getting you the best deals. Seán also works with Class Reps to organise class parties and trips away throughout the year.
Leanna’s job is to inform you about all the work the SU is doing and making you aware of the services that the Union offers you. Check out tcdsu.org to keep up to date. Another role she has is as Editor of The University Times. The paper is editorially independent from the Un-ion and will cover the news and information that you need to know.

Class Reps
A big part of Jack’s job is to ensure that Class Reps are elected and trained to work for you. Class Reps are the fi rst point of contact for the Students’ Union. It is their role to represent their class and any issues that may arise - whether it involves the entire group or just one person. The system ensures that all students have a voice; every class has the opportunity to elect at least one representative.
In previous years, we have elected as many as 380 reps! Without Class Reps, there is no Students’ Union - we need them to help Sabbatical Offi cers perform their roles effectively. If you’re interested in being a Rep, check out the nomination form on the next page!
SU Council
SU Council is the main decision making body in the Union and meets a number of times during year to discuss and debate issues that members of the Union feel are of interest to students. Essentially, whenever Council says “jump” the Sabbatical Offi cers say, “how high?”.
Every student may attend Council and speak on any topic that affects them, from the library to fees. However, only elected members, such as Class Reps and executive offi cers, can vote on an issue.

The university Times
The University Times is one of Ireland’s leading student newspapers. The broadsheet has won the Irish Student Newspaper of the Year Award for three consecutive years, from 2010 - 2012. Our website won Website of the Year in the Student Achievement Awards 2013. UT is distributed to the 16,000 students of Trinity College Dublin. This includes the Trinity campus, the Halls Residence in Dartry, St James’s Hospital and Tallaght Hospital. A staff of over eighty students contributes to the newspaper — but we’re always looking for more people to help out!
