Situation

Roger had been running a successful hotel

business for 20 years. He was approaching his

retirement and was looking to obtain interest

only terms on his business loan facility so that he

had sufficient time to position the business for

sale. Although Roger had been with his existing

lender, a major bank, for over 10 years, the interest

only period that he sought was unavailable due to

changes in the bank’s credit policy. Understanding

Situation

David and Michael’s motor mechanic business

had grown significantly over the last three years

and their financial advisor had suggested that

they put structures in place to grow and protect

their personal wealth. David and Michael had

ongoing concerns that their current lender lacked

the technical expertise and support to fulfill their

requirements, so their financial planner introduced

How we helped

An initial strategy meeting was held with David

and Michael, their financial planner and their

accountant. It was revealed that while obtaining

a good interest rate was important, David and
