COLLECTION GUIDELINES WASTE & RECYCLING

CURBSIDE CONTAINERS FOR PICKUP • Containers must by placed at the curb in

front of your residence by 8:00 a.m. on your designated collection day.

• Your Waste Collection Day will NOT be the same as your Recycle Collection Day.

• Garbage should be bagged, tied andsecurely stored in your container with thelid closed at all times. If the lid is open, thecollection truck won't be able to empty it.

• Please DO NOT place your containers:• Closer than 3' from garbage or recycle

containers, mailboxes, vehicles, trees, etc. • On a sidewalk or IN the street• Over sprinkler heads, water or gas

meters, or cable/electrical boxes • Under low-hanging tree limbs or

cable/electrical wires • DO NOT pile bags or trash on top of or

around your container.• Items too large to fit in your container

should be taken to the transfer station.• Arrows on top of the container should face

the street and wheels should face your house. • Brush must be cut into 4-foot length or

shorter and put in a separate pile. Pleasecall to schedule collection for a nominal fee.

THESE ITEMS CANNOT BE COLLECTED • Dirt, sod, concrete or rock, tires, oil

filters, and CFC containing appliances.• Flammable materials such as oil, gas or paint.• Contractor generated debris from con-

struction, remodeling or demolition.• Hazardous waste, liquids or any other

material prohibited from the landfill orTransfer Station.

Garbage and Recycle Containers must be removed from curb following collection.

All colors of plastic will be accepted. Please check the bottom of the containers for #1 or #2 to confirm its acceptance. DO NOT include bags, wrapping or packaging.

NOTE: Holiday interruptions will occur on New Year's Day. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your collection falls on a holiday, it will be collected the following day. Collections will run as NORMAL on all other holidays.

SCHEDULE YOUR WASTE PICKUP Only the items described on the left panel are recyclable. All other items are waste. Large debris should be taken to the transfer station for disposal. Please schedule brush collection by calling 979-337-7455 or using the BVR Waste and Recycling App.
