You will disappoint people; but you’re not a disappointment.

he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you……

a detestable image for Asherah. Asa cut down her image, crushed it, and burned it at the brook Kidron. 17 But the high places were not taken out

of Israel. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was wholly true all his days……

2 Chronicles 16:7–12 At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him, “Because you relied on the king of Syria, and did

not rely on the LORD your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped you……

8 Were not the Ethiopians and the Libyans a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet because you relied on the LORD, he gave them into your hand. 9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole

earth……

to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.”

10 Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the stocks in prison……

for he was in a rage with him because of this. And Asa inflicted cruelties upon some of the people at the same time……. 12 In the thirty-

ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet,

and his disease became severe…….

Yet even in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but sought help from physicians.

I’m disappointed in myself.

I let people down.

I don’t measure up to other people.

I don’t have a list of accomplishments (or even things I’d like to accomplish).

Don’t confuse your disappointments; with believing you are a disappointment.

God sees our disappointments, but He doesn’t see us as a disappointment.

God is not disappointed in us;but He is disappointed for us.

Start with confession, not trying harder.

Psalm 32:3; 5 When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. 5 I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my

iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.

Live for God’s approval; not man’s.

Galatians 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a

servant of Christ.

See yourself as a child; not as a hired hand.

Galatians 4:1; 7 I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything….. 7 So you are no longer a

slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Hear His delight in you, not His disgust with you.

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
