R omancing the TajNew Delhi ± Agra ± Jaipur

The Golden Triangle is a good introduction to India for the lay traveler. The cities of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur are exotic, aswell as understandable ± or so you think, until you get intothe streets. Then you realize that three are some things yousimply cannot prepare for: the intensity of the massive  poverty; the religious diversity; shocking government hotels;antiquity still everywhere you care to look; the scale of theTaj Mahal; the mystique and audacious grandeur of the

ancient Mogul architecture; the chauvinism; theenvironmental desecration«and the traffic.

Day 01 New DelhiMeting assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at thehotel.

Day 02 In New DelhiIn the morning proceed for a sightseeing tour of the Old Delhi - a multi -layered city. Our first stop is the Red Fort  built by the great MughalEmperor Shah Jehan when he shifted his capital from Agra. A short drivebrings us to the Great Mosque - The Jama Masjid . Drive on to see

the memorial built for Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.Afternoon Sightseeing tour of New Delhi includes a visit to the QutubMinar - the tallest stone tower in India built in 1191 AD. Chhatarpur Temple - the most popular Hindu temple with blissful tranquility andserene ambience. Continue to Humayun's Tomb believed to have beendesigned by his widow. Its plan is based on the description of Islamicparadise gardens and is known to have inspired the Taj Mahal and manylater Mughal tombs. Also visit the Bahai Temple - a lotus shapedstructure. It is made of marble, cement, dolomite and sand. It is open toall faiths and is an ideal place for meditation and obtaining peace andtranquility.Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 New Delhi ± Agra (Drive: 203 Kms / 4 hrs approximately).

Early morning drive to Agra, 203 Kms from New Delhi, situated on the bank of river Yamuna and famous forone of the seven wonder of the world ³ TAJ MAHAL .́ On arrival check in at Hotel.

Later proceed for the city sightseeing and visit Taj Mahal  - built by a grief-stricken emperor, Shah Jahan, as amemorial of eternal love for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Agra Fort  which perhaps offers the most movingview of the Taj Mahal from its octagonal tower situated across the River Jamuna. (Yamuna)

Sikandra ± Emperor Akbar¶s tomb at Sikandra is a magnificent gateway, covered with floral and geometricalarabesque decoration in white and colored marble. Four elegant Minarets surround the tomb.

Evening at leisure to explore the local market. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 In Jaipur

Morning excursion to the Amber Fort  which is perched on a hill. An Elephant transports us inside the fortwhich houses a Marble Palace, Temple of Victory and a Hall of Mirrors

Afternoon at leisure to relax

Later in the day proceed for a city tour of Jaipur visiting The Observatory (Jantar Mantar), built in 1726 byJai Singh, a notable astronomer King. It houses instruments of astronomy with astonishing accuracy, whichgives accurate predictions to this day. The City Palace is a visitors delight, Within the walls are severalPalaces and museums resplendent with collections of the princely era. Drive to the Palace of Winds (HawaMahal), a five story high Palace having a facade of windows and latticed screens which allowed the Ladies of the Court, in bygone days, to sit and view the streets of the city.

Evening at leisure to explore the local market. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04 Agra ± Jaipur(Drive: 221 Kms / 5 hrs approximately).

After breakfast drive to Jaipur enroute visitingFatehpur Sikri, a fascinating deserted capital

of Emperor Akbar

On arrival check in at Hotel

Evening at leisure in the Pink City of India,which is not only the capital of Rajasthan butalso the hub of Gem & Jewels.

Day 06 Jaipur to New DelhiAfter breakfast at Hotel, drive to New Delhi 258 Kms & approx 05 Hours. On arrival transfer to a Restaurant for

Dinner and later on transfer to IGI airport to board onwards flight.
