A letter from our Pastor…
After a very long winter, the spring has finally arrived. The trees are greening up and the flowers are blooming just in time for Mother’s Day! Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers and all the women (step-mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, cousins, neighbors, teachers and women in religious life and more…) in our lives who have been like a mother to us. Mothers show us something very special and sublime in the way they share love and show us how to love others in return.
A mother’s love reveals to us a glimpse of how God loves us to completely, without reservation, with no strings attached. They have shown us how God’s love is real in our lives and truly alive in the world. We have so many reasons to give thanks.
At Mass on Mother’s Day, when our mother’s share in a blessing, let us remember all the women who do not have children, who may have lost their children, or whose children have moved on or moved away. These women still love their children with a mother’s love. Share your love and thanks today with your mother and with all these women who have loved the children in their lives so completely and selflessly.
Our parish has a gift for our mothers today… roses are available after Mass. Happy Mother’s Day!
May is such a busy month. First Eucharists are being celebrated. Parishioners are supporting the Bishop’s Appeal. Stewardship week is concluding, as is the Easter season. Continue to share the joy of the Easter Season. Alleluia!
Peace be with you, Fr. Joe

Spring Enrichment is an exciting opportunity for all parishioners... The Albany Diocese offers about 100 classes and workshops each spring at the College of Saint Rose. Spring Enrichment will take place from Wednesday, May 16th through Friday, May 18th. There is a wide variety of courses to choose from.
Thursday afternoon and evening will feature programs for young adults, teens and those who accompany them. Go to: www.rcda.org/springenrichment for more information and to register. Hope to see you there!
“This is a powerful summons to all of us... You too need to see the entirety of your life as a mission. Try to do so by listening to God in prayer and recognizing the signs that he gives you. Always ask the Spirit what Jesus expects from you at every moment of your life and in every decision you must make, so as to discern its place in the mission you have received. Allow the Spirit to forge in you the personal mystery that can reflect Jesus Christ is today’s world.” ~Pope Francis, Rejoice and Be Glad

Renovations Update... We are nearing the completion of the new garage and front handicap entrance. Over the last several weeks, we have received several suggestions and ideas on landscaping and plantings for the areas affected by the new construction and for the treatment of the Grotto. Repairing and landscaping these areas will be the next phase of work and the committee is hoping to start this work shortly.
Recent progress: new sidewalks to the Parish Center and the Children’s Room entrance to the Church have been completed and the accessibility ramp to the office are taking shape.
Anyone interested in sharing their thoughts and ideas on how these areas should be landscaped is welcome to attend a short meeting at 9:30AM on Saturday, May 19th. We will gather by the new garage. We hope to see you there.
