Write down all situations in which the person harasses you. Also, include the situations in which you did not call the police. 2. Write down all important details. Make notes of conversations and phone calls. Save e-mails, voice- mails, text messages and WhatsApp messages. Also save messages via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other social media. Take photos of them and keep them on your computer or phone. Do this right away, because in some apps or programmes, someone can re- move a message very quickly. 3. Put yourself in the shoes of the person who is harassing you. Try to put yourself in the shoes of the person who is harassing you. What do you know about that person and what he might be going to do? Do you know which social media the person uses - for example Twitter, Facebook or Snapchat? How much understanding does this person have about computers, telephones, cameras or devices with which you can listen to someone? Or does the person know people who know a lot about it? 4. Keep watching out for your own safety. Pay attention to your own safety. Does the person who is harassing you know that you are writing down information? If so, this person may even harass you more. Trust your own feelings: you know best what can happen. 5. Only save what has to do with the harassment. Save only that information that really has to do with how the other person is harassing you. This information may be evidence in a court case in the future. The other person can then see this infor- mation. Do not add your own photos, for example. If you are being harassed by someone, it is important that you always save information about this person and the events. This helps you, and possibly the police, to see how this person behaves, whether his behaviour is becoming more serious and if you might be in danger yourself. The more evidence you collect, the greater the chance that the police or the court can punish this person.
