Managing Contacts and Instant
Messages Manage and organize trading activity with broker and trading counterparts with the Main, Message and Activity Consoles.
MANAGING YOUR CONTACTS
All your contacts – including ones
outside the YJ Network - are
consolidated and displayed in the Main
Console.
Adding Contacts:
1. To add a contact, click “ADD+” at the
bottom of the Main Console.
2. Enter the contact's YellowJacket,
AIM or Yahoo username in the
appropriate field. (You may include
more than one IM service for each
contact. YJ will initially connect via
the YJ network, then subsequently
the other networks).
3. Also enter the contact’s nickname (if
applicable), first and last names and
e-mail address.
TIP: To send an email from YJ, right-click
on the contact and select “Email
Contact”.
Want to re-organize your contacts? Click and drag contacts into the
appropriate folder.
Messages from Contacts not on your list:
1. When someone not on your contact list attempts to
make contact, YJSHelp (YellowJacket’s Help Desk) will
notify you with the contact’s information and the
message transmitted. To add this contact, click the “Add
Contact” link that appears. You may also choose to block
a contact to prevent further messages. Note that you can
only unblock a contact by adding it to your contact list.
Away Messages
1. To appear as Away, click on the “Available” tab and
select “Away”. You may create a custom away message
by clicking on “Custom Message” in the same
dropdown.
SENDING AND RECEIVING MESSAGES
Simply click on a tab to send a message.
You will receive a popup in the lower right corner of your
screen for new messages. Your tab will also highlight yellow
when a new message appears.
Turn messages pop-ups on or off by clicking the “VIEW”
button at the bottom of the Main Console.
You can also turn off message notifications for an individual
contact (Icon A) or an entire message console (Icon B). Note

Priority Messaging allows you to play a custom sound and

OR
Whenever a message contains a certain keyword
Contact Priority Messaging
If you would like to prioritize EVERY message received by a
certain contact, right click on the contact in the Main Console

From here you'll be able to configure custom keywords and
set the colors/sounds used when those keywords are
received.
The dialog is divided into three sections:
Default Priority: Allows you to configure the color/sound used by default for all incoming messages. If you are part of a desk then you can also configure a different color/sound for both incoming and outgoing desk messages (outgoing desk messages are messages sent by your co-workers through the desk account).
User Assignable Priority: Allows you to configure up to three priorities that can be assigned to either keywords or contacts.
Keyword Priority: Allows you to associate priorities to messages which contain keywords
Keyword Priority Messaging
By default, YellowJacket comes pre-loaded with a number of
common keywords (buy, sell, mine yours etc...). To add a
new keyword, use the textbox at the bottom of the dialog
and press the Add Keyword button. Next, assign a priority to
the keyword either Pri1, Pri2 or Pri3.

and display outgoing desk messages.
The Quote Console is a real-time, consolidated and private view, providing users with the ability to monitor and manage current broker
prices for each instrument. Use this “electronic blotter” to value bids and offers and share data across trading desks. Priority contacts and
keywords (page 4) will also be displayed in priority colors on the Quote Console. You can also integrate the Quote console with your
