QUILT ASSEMBLYRefer to the quilt photo for placement of fabrics and blocks.

Pinwheel BlockDraw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of the assorted print 4” squares. Place assorted print 4” squares on top of the vintage white solid 4” squares. Sew ¼” on each side of the drawn line. Cut on the lines to make 48 Half Square Triangles. Press. Square up the Half Square Triangles to 3½”.

Referring to the block diagram for placement, sew 4 Half Square Triangles together to create the Pinwheel Block. Repeat to make 12 Pinwheel Blocks.

Setting TrianglesDraw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of the blue stars 4” squares. Place the blue stars 4” squares on top of the vintage white solid 4” squares. Sew ¼” on each side of the drawn line. Cut on the lines to make 14 Half Square Triangles. Press. Square up the Half Square Triangles to 3½”.

Sew a yellow bandana triangle to each side of the Half Square Triangles to create 8 Setting Triangle A’s and 6 Setting Triangle B’s.

Quilt Center AssemblyRefer to the quilt photo for Pinwheel Block, Setting Block, and Setting Triangle placement. Sew rows together on the diagonal to complete the center of the quilt. Add Corner Triangles. The Corner and Setting Triangles are intentionally larger in order to square up the quilt center, leaving ¼” seam allowance on all sides.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew border strips together end to end if necessary to get the length needed. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 43”. Top and bottom borders should be 46½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Sasparilla Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
