Dear Friends, I hope you will join me in Atlanta from May 3-5 for our 12th National Conference. The year 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of Family Promise as a national organization. The conference theme, “Sharing Our Dream, Keeping Our Promise,” reflects both our collective accomplishments of the past 25 years and the aspirations we all share to help shape our communities and end family homelessness. Reflecting our location and our theme will be our featured keynote speaker, Ambassador Andrew Young. Dr. Young first gained acclaim as an aide to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He went on to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations, Mayor of Atlanta, a member of the US House of Representatives and has authored several books and is an ordained UCC minister. Ambassador Young will draw on his lifetime of service to inspire us with our opening keynote address. As always, we are offering a wide range of workshops that address the needs of Family Promise staff, board members and volunteers. These include sessions dedicated to all aspects of Affiliate management, from sustainable fundraising to best practices in case management to strategic board development. Presenters will include Family Promise staff and associates, Affiliate leaders and outside experts in a wide range of fields. Expect to be enlightened, inspired and challenged! Make sure to leave time to enjoy our host city. The Conference will be in Buckhead, the most dynamic section of Atlanta, and our Saturday night event will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy the Fernbank Museum, the preeminent science center of the southeast, with music, great food and dancing. Ultimately, much of the real benefit of attending a Family Promise conference happens more by chance, in the connections that are made during breaks or meals or after a workshop ends. When one Affiliate Director turns to another and says, “We had a similar situation. This is how we handled it. Do you want to talk more?” Our conferences provide you with an opportunity to connect with others who “share the dream” to end family homelessness in America. I’m sure the experience will leave you recharged and refreshed, able to better serve the families that depend upon you. So come to Atlanta and celebrate the 25th anniversary of our collective efforts to “keep the promise.” See you in May! Sincerely, Karen Olson President Cancellation Policy If you need to cancel your registration, you can do so for a full refund minus a service charge of $15 by notifying Angelica by mail or email ([email protected]) no later than April 19th, 2013. Dear Friends,I hope you will join me in Atlanta from May 3-5 for our 12th National Conference.

The year 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of Family Promise as a national

organization. The conference theme, “Sharing Our Dream, Keeping Our Promise,”

reflects both our collective accomplishments of the past 25 years and the

aspirations we all share to help shape our communities and end family

homelessness.

Reflecting our location and our theme will be our featured keynote speaker,

Ambassador Andrew Young. Dr. Young first gained acclaim as an aide to Rev. Dr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. He went on to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations,

Mayor of Atlanta, a member of the US House of Representatives and has authored

several books and is an ordained UCC minister. Ambassador Young will draw on

his lifetime of service to inspire us with our opening keynote address.

As always, we are offering a wide range of workshops that address the needs of

Family Promise staff, board members and volunteers. These include sessions

dedicated to all aspects of Affiliate management, from sustainable fundraising to

best practices in case management to strategic board development. Presenters

will include Family Promise staff and associates, Affiliate leaders and outside

experts in a wide range of fields. Expect to be enlightened, inspired and

challenged!

Make sure to leave time to enjoy our host city. The Conference will be in

Buckhead, the most dynamic section of Atlanta, and our Saturday night event will

be a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy the Fernbank Museum, the

preeminent science center of the southeast, with music, great food and dancing.

Ultimately, much of the real benefit of attending a Family Promise conference

happens more by chance, in the connections that are made during breaks or

meals or after a workshop ends. When one Affiliate Director turns to another and

says, “We had a similar situation. This is how we handled it. Do you want to talk

more?” Our conferences provide you with an opportunity to connect with others

who “share the dream” to end family homelessness in America. I’m sure the

experience will leave you recharged and refreshed, able to better serve the

families that depend upon you.

So come to Atlanta and celebrate the 25th anniversary of our collective efforts to

“keep the promise.” See you in May!

Sincerely,

Karen OlsonPresident
