Mobile Dental Care SA will be back on site next Monday & Tuesday to complete the follow-up clinic for students who missed out or require further treatment after last term’s visit. We are planning another clinic
for either late in Term 4 or early in 2020 so watch this space!
National Science Week Mr Schumann is hosting lunchtime science workshops in the STEAM Space during Science Week (week 4) from Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th August. Here’s a taste of what he has planned:
Monday: can crumpling and a fountain experiment
Tuesday: ’dry ice extravaganza’ — come and see what this amazing stuff does!
Wednesday: learn about and make an ‘Archimedes Diver’ (oooohh what's that? Come along and find out or miss out!)
Mr Schumann will also be presenting science in the primary classes including some rocket propulsion experiments! WOW!
Considering drum, guitar, keyboard/piano or vocal lessons for your student/s? SPACE IS AVAILABLE
for private tuition — instrument lessons are on Thursday mornings and vocals on Friday mornings
during class time. Lessons are 30mins each, individual or group.
Contact Karyn Skewes on 0414 253 956 ASAP to enquire.
REHEARSAL is on during school hours on Wednesday—please wear your choir uniform (black pants and coloured shirts). The PERFORMANCE is on the same night—students must
arrive at the back door of the Chaffey Theatre at 7pm.
YEAR 9/10 CAMP
Notes went home yesterday regarding the
Year 9/10 camp to Wilmington in the lower Flinders Ranges from Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th August (week 6). Students have a bit of
work to do in the lead-up to camp, including
working together to plan, budget and shop for their menu plus organising
‘who’s got what’ tent and camping equipment between their groups.
Chaplain’s Corner by Mrs Veronica Raams
This term started with me attending two conferences in the first week. They were both so good! I grew a lot and feel refreshed and ready to start the second half of the year with new enthusiasm and looking at life through a new lens. I was also taught how important it is to look after myself so I can serve others better. Sometimes we forget that, especially as parents we give and give!
In Follow Jesus we’re talking about the importance of reading our Bibles. This is also a way to keep close to God and rest in Him.
Programs are all starting back this week: Monday: Ukulele for F-3s during Performing Arts & Circle Time for Years 4-6 at lunchtime Tuesday: Follow Jesus—whole school @ lunch Thursday: Gardening Club—whole school @ lunch Friday: Circle Time for Years 7-10 @ lunch and GirlWise during class time
Chapel: Thank you to the 9/10 class who took chapel last week—I’m sure you were great. Next week we have a split chapel with secondary at 1:40pm & primary at 2:30pm. You are most welcome to come along!
